Chez Constant sits by the entrance to the Chamonix town (coming in from the slopes). We were starving and already read the raving reviews of CC. 5 of us walked in around 2:30pm (Restaurant has posted a closing time from 3-7pm) but we were still greeted warmly and seated right away. Our server (forgot his name but didn't forget how gracious he was with us) got us menus, water, drinks and let us figure out what we want. He brought us a sampler, cold pumpkin soup. It was delicious, a lot of flavor and tasted fresh. My friends ordered the Foundue (minimum 2 orders) and the French special of oven-baked potatoes with bacon, ham, cheese and nutmeg. I ordered the Winter Vegetable Bowl (due to lactose intolerance) and it was beyond my expectation. The texture and taste of lentil, pumpkin puree, carrots and something crunchy on top mixed really well together. The presentation was top-notched. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and esp with the hospitality. Not once did we felt rushed ( over-stayed past the 3pm) Hope to be back at Charmonix and...
Read moreWe had a disappointing experience with your services. Our group of eight people arrived late for our reservation, the arrival time was about 13.40, and were directed to an outdoor table, which we didn't mind initially. However, the rain started pouring and it became uncomfortably cold for our children. We kindly asked the waitress if we could move indoors, but she responded rudely, declining our request. We then inquired if it would be possible for just four of us, especially the children, to move inside since we noticed several empty tables indoors. Unfortunately, her response was still impolite and denied our request. What further upset us was witnessing the waitress welcoming new arrivals and offering them the choice of seating indoors or outdoors. This inconsistency in treatment made us decide to leave the establishment. We believe it is important to bring these matters to your attention for the improvement of your...

Escargots were overcooked and the butter wasn't nice enough to help compensate for this. I think a strong garlic butter than butter and chives would have been better. Though I did really like having a healthy dark green salad with it & kudos on no iceberg which is cheap and lacks any nutritional value.
The duck breast was ok but again overcooked which is a shame as it had potential given the thickness. They could probably serve less potatoes as i thought it was there just to make up the dish.
Pistachio biscuit with a berry filled cream was nice but too sweet for my liking. I really would've liked to have tried the creme brulee which and is a shame as i couldn't swap it on the Gourmet menu.
I think the presentation was quite good throughout (except the burnt escargots) but unfortunately the taste and texture didn't match the presentation. The waitresses were quite nice...
