Never in my life have I walked out of a restaurant. Never ordered. My husband and I were excited to try this place. We love omelettes, and they are sometimes hard to find in Switzerland. We waited for them to open in the morning by the chain gate. Lots of seating inside & out..multiple tables. We opted to sit inside and were the only couple in the entire place. Man pointed to a small 2-top next to the wall saying, “Deux!” Ok, fine. Started to sit but multiple wet spots on seat. So, I didn’t complain just sat at next table. Man came back, “Duex! Deux!” pointing to smaller table. Tried to show him wet spots and he pointed to ceiling saying something in French and pointed to the small table again walking away. So, I presume my options were 1. Wipe up the unknown spots w/my napkin and then use to wipe my mouth!?, or 2. Wipe up spots with my pants!? rather than ALLOW us to sit at a nearby 4-top in an empty restaurant? Rude host, uncaring, made us feel unwelcome. Possibly because we didn’t speak French? Too bad as no doubt this place has other decent employees. No restaurant in the World should require a “guest” to sit in unknown liquid. Anywhere else someone would have gladly wiped it up, or offered a different table in their empty restaurant. We got up and I kindly said, “I don’t feel welcome” and as we were leaving he replied, “Merci.” So… Adieu...
Read moreOur experience here was so horrible. We were attended by the only english speaking staff there and we asked for some recommendations for a cheese fondue. We told her we did not eat meat so she recommended something that came with bread and potatoes (or that’s what we heard) enough for 2 pax and we said ok. We had already given our order for starters - an omelette and a french onion soup. We asked if the order is alright for 2 people and she said yes and said she’ll serve the starters first. When we were served our French onion soup and the omelette, we realised the portions were huge and we already felt pretty full. We called her to ask if we could cancel the fondue and she said that the kitchen had already made it. When we were done with our starters and asked for them to bring the fondue, it took almost 10 minutes to be served and it came with slices of pork. When we questioned about it, she said that was what we ordered and she only recommended but we did not have to follow, and also that it was apparently “prepared and on standby to be served” the moment our orders were sent to the kitchen. Also, the food gave us horrible food poisoning and we spent the rest of our day...
Read moreFor 94 euros the two of us ate one almost tasteless onion soup (the onions were semi-burnt), the soup was full of huge tasteless cheap cheese lumps. I ordered a forest mushroom omelet, which looked pretty good once it arrived on a hot plate, but the mushrooms were hard to chew and the whole thing was once again lacking taste and structure. You think you’d be safe ordering an omelet in an omeletterie, but no. With the dish comes a small salad that’s constituted out of 2 leaves of salad, 2 slices of bell pepper and a dash of sauce. The biggest disappointment of all was the fondue, it’s a dish that we’re very familiar with and should be a pretty standard thing to make. The quality was beneath the average, it was watery and the bread kept disintegrating in the cheese soup, the cheese was all stuck to the bottom of the bowl and 80% of the dish was water. Not to be petty, for that price we also had a 0.75 bottle of wine that was not that bad, an average quality that you can find at a local...
