A gem of a restaurant in a city that serves mostly Savoyard dishes and french specialties! Although lovely, it was great to see this sushi restaurant open the whole day, even at 3pm when we needed a late lunch after just getting back from aguille du midi! 💖 It was literally a lifesaver! I had the pleasure of meeting the sushi chef in action, who's won accolades for his incredible work! Truly, the Salmon Aburi is more than testament enough for his mastery of the craft. It was nothing like other sushi stores make the mistake of the most: too much rice and too little fish! Although the chirashi and sushis were great, the ready-to-eat plates were just pretty ok, and is far from authentic Japanese. The Karaage, although enjoyable, was drenched in too much tonkatsu sauce. The Miso soup was obviously an instant one that they just put hot water on to re-heat. The set-up of the restaurant is a bit self-service and has a more take away than dine-in appeal. Other than that, i still definitely recommend this place just for the stellar sushi platters they offer.

We came to Chamonix in summer holiday for the first time in 20 years. After hiking, we had a nigiri sushi set and kappa rolls and others for dinner. From the perspective of a Japanese couple who have lived in Europe for 35 years, Yumidori is an one of my best impression for sushi experience in Europe, not only the beauty of the presentation, but also the freshness of the ingredients, how they were cut, how they were made, and the size balance with the rice were all authentic professional class. A tune rolls that make use of the colors of French cuisine were wonderful. Also, the vinegared cucumber and wakame seaweed was so delicious that I felt tired after walking in the mountains. Proficiency certificate of All Japan Sushi Association, It was an authentic skill. Dinning space at 1st floor is very clean. I'll definitely come back again. The overall quality goes far beyond the fast food look. Highly recommended!!

World class sushi in Chamonix. I've visited here twice now, and both times have been excellent. The food is beautifully prepared, fresh, and tasty. Me and a friend shared the 45 peice platter with some extra sides. What a great experience for the taste buds. My personal favourite is the tuna spring roll, but to he honest, every single item is expertly put together with perfectly balanced flavours and stunningly presented. If you're a fan of sushi, then I highly recommend you try Yumidori.

I ordered food to go and ordered one of their matcha tirmamisu to go because I saw a picture of it and that’s what I was most looking forward to. Ordered food to go and when I ordered my dessert with other food there were 2 of the desserts left. When it was time to pick up my order, they told me they didn’t have anymore and gave away my dessert to people that ordered after me. The guy didn’t even say sorry until I asked why it wasn’t pulled aside and barely cared. Awful service. Also no chopsticks or soy sauce. We also ordered one of the curries and it was missing. We also ordered 10 piece sashimi and only got 9. Really just absolutely...
