The day before we want to go, we call to book. "Call in 30 mins and I'll book you in". We call back 30 mins later. "Can you call back at 10pm, I know your booking details, I just need a reminder as we are busy". We call at 10pm... no answer. We leave a voicemail. We stupidly assume that must be enough, but just in case, we turn up early to the restaurant to check.
Owner: You didn't book, you need a booking. Us: we called many times and talked with you and then left you a voice mail. Owner: I don't listen to the voicemails so you don't have a booking.
Conclusion: the service is unlikely to be better when you're already stuck in there.
Suggestion: Save yourself some pain and go a few doors down to "Chez Constant". The service was lovely and always going above and beyond, the food delicious and they also had plenty of space and...

Absolutely loved our food, the staff were warm and so inviting, the atmosphere was so welcoming. But the most important part of the review - the food was amazing. We ordered entrecôte (steak) avec pomme frites - medium rare. Wonderful! Cooked in butter, parsley seasoned perfectly- this was the most wonderful meal! We also had the Bordeaux carafe - would recommend. Finished with a cognac and Nutella crepe, the crepe was thin and crispy on the edges - and so quick to come out despite a full restaurant.

Read moreFood was good. Nothing to make it stand out though. The service was exceptional. The waitress and chefs were friendly and social. They explained the dishes very well so you knew what you were getting. Excellent selection of wine, some beers, plenty of non alcoholic drinks too. The atmosphere was incredible - right on the main strip! Also, if you're sitting on the patio, there's an opening into the kitchen so you can see the food being prepared. I found myself staring at times because it was interesting.
