Absolute Chamonix - Parapente — Attraction in Bonneville

Wonderful experience with Absolute Chamonix!!

Called in the morning to schedule a tandem paraglide and Caroline was able to accommodate me for later that afternoon. I wasn't sure I would be able to go during my trip to Chamonix because of the weather, but I am so glad it worked out last minute!! The total time from meeting them at the lift to being driven back to town was about 1.5 hours. It usually is closer to 1 hour from what they said, but with these kinds of activities depending on weather and other people there can always be unexpected changes so I would recommend leaving at least 2-3 hours free in your day just in case.

I had a great time, and after expressing that I am interested in learning more about the sport Caroline told me all about the technical and safety details before, during, and after our flight. Caroline frequently checked in with me during the flight to make sure I was doing okay, and we even had the chance to ride some thermals up above the mountains for the most amazing views. She made the flight so much fun, and made me feel very safe the entire time. Caroline's experience as a paraglider as well as an instructor definitely shows.

We were looking for a Speed-Riding instructor to help us for a film project. For this project Olympic gold medalist Julia Mancuso would learn how to Speed-Ride in only a few days. We came across Caroline and Absolute Chamonix online. First we made contact via email right before the Christmas days and Caroline reacted really quickly. From that moment we had a lot of contact on phone and email to discuss the possibilities and the proces. The communication during the preparation was really easy, her English is fluent which helps a lot.

Caroline is super professional and has been extremely helpful along the way. Here expertise on this sport is exceptional and she knows the area really well. She is an ambitious paraglider but also an ambitious teacher. She was really motivated to teach Julia as much as possible and get the most out of our days. Safety is really important to Caroline and she makes sure everybody has the right equipment. She doesn't take any risk and our complete crew felt totally safe with her.

Never tried gliding, but always saw people on the skies before while climbing in the Brevent and walking through Chamonix. Eventually just had to try it, to see if it was as fun as it looked.

Will say that it is even more fun than it looks - me and my partner had a phenomenal time. I would recommend everyone trying paragliding at least once on a trip here. It truly is unforgettable and considering the value, it is a no brainer! If you can get a slot with their great staff, go with Absolute.
