I never review a restaurant because i believe people have different opinions and tastes, as i am a chef. But i never felt this disappointed coming out of a restaurant. It is the feeling when you are looking forward to a meal and it doesn’t meet your expectations. We ordered my friend and i a fondue ( she is a chef too ) For the first time i don’t finish a fondue because of how much i disliked it. At first i thought it was me, something was wrong with my taste buds, until i looked at my friend and saw her face reaction. This is no fondue with all my respect to the chef who made it. It had the taste of a bechamel, and a ton of garlic to hide the taste of the cheese. Over and over id try it some more, just making sure i wasn’t judging the food too fast. I hate complaining about the food because i respect the people who prepare the food, the chefs and also waiters, but i just couldn’t… When the waitress asked about how the food was, we told her how we felt about the fondue, her answer was, add some pepper…. Oh well thank you ! Such a big disappointment. I live in the Savoie region and regularly eat fondue and i know how it tastes like. Surely different from one place to another because of the kind of cheeses used but here there was no cheese taste, it was cream and bechamel. I paid 40 euros with a glass of wine. The fondue came with charcuterie. I dont mind paying this price, but not when you leave disappointed especially when you were looking forward to...

We had from the Menu Montagnard Great choice we had mixture of starters French onion soup, and cold cuts platter with an additional gravalax salmon to try off the main menu. Mains it had to be the fondue and the La Tartiflette so we could try both Dessert Cottage cheese and berries - not as expected, really smooth and light consistency a lovely not sweet dessert and Panna Cotta with Amaertto and compote An additional warm cookie 🍪 ordered to try this did disappoint at all either YUM 😋
Our servers were all brilliant 👏 friendly and helpful. Attentative but not overbearing, felt very relaxed and comfortable 😌

Read moreThe service was a bit classist, as we perceived a different treat depending on the clients, this was not so good, then we ordered a mixed meat cooked in situ on a heating stone with some standard vegetables, the idea was good and a topic from Chamonix cuisine, but let me remark that surprisingly the chicken quality was much better than the beef, which was a poor quality meat. Finally, the atmosphere was not as warm as we hoped, depending on how much money you spend there you are treated in a different way as when we let the service to know that we wanted tap water to share, they completely changed the treatment. Finally, we wanted to know about allergies in the food and they never answered.
With all this, my qualification is of 2/5 and I recommend many others places at Chamonix instead...
