We went to the tourist office to get information about where we can make reservations for the cablecar from plan de l’aiguille to aiguille du midi because although you write about those in your prospects, one cannot do it online. I had done this ten years ago without any trouble. The lady on the counter did not just not understand our request and kept on talking about some other hiking routes, but also just shouted at us, that every trail is covered in snow and it is not possible to hike to plan de l‘aiguille from any direction. Although we are experienced in the mountains we thought after a short discussion with the rude lady the tickets are not being sold. We bought the double prized tickets from chamonix and went hiking after. Not only was there NO snow on the trails, but also we hiked all of the trails, she had told us one day before were completely impossible to hike, with about 200 other people in jeans and sneakers. I really get why you are giving conservative advise about snow but this was just ridiculous and unprofessionel and I am still angry about the 75 bucks we could have saved and the unpoliteness and disinformation...
Read moreThey are so——extremely helpful.
I walked in in a rather unbusy afternoon, the gentleman greeted us behind his desk. Just when I looked up at the map just to grasp a general idea of Chamonix’s sightseeing places before asking him. He walked out of his reception desk to ask if I needed any help. I was surprised by his kindness and thorough knowledge he possessed. After knowing we have one more day to go in Chamonix after having gone to the top and montenver train, he kindly advised us to take tramway du mont-Blanc, which we did, and the suggested hiking route from Mont Lachat to Col de Voza is just splendid, undoubtedly beautiful.
We ended up having one of the most beautiful days in Chamonix.
Just the most terrific and helpful experience here, thanks to office de Tourisme de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. A special thank goes to the gentleman as well(sorry didn’t get the chance to have his name,...
Read moreAs expected the place was super busy and from the entrance you can find leaflets and brochure with various activities that you can do on the mountains. We tried to get informed while queuing but in the 6-7 minutes looking trough them I couldn't find the info I needed and when my turn came I got the answer in 30 seconds 😁, and with a smile on her face. Since we travel a lot with the kids you couldn't help noticing (small or big) places for kids to entertain while waiting, ( tables with books for coloring) so this is a big plus from my point of view. So overall feeling is positive, one suggestion, it depends also on the day of the week and of the season of course, would be to supliment another person, like this speeding the que 😁. Regardless, everything around you is so spectacular that you quickly move on, and enjoy your stay. I hope...
