This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel we arrived, sat down and ordered our drinks. When some of the drinks came 2 drinks didn’t come at the same time so we asked where they where the waitress then replied saying that she was waiting 2 tables and she was a bit busy but they where coming. This would have been okay if she had assured us positively that the drinks would come. Instead she started to defend herself when we weren’t attacking the situation. When our food came we asked one of the waitresses if we could have 2 extra plates - they didn’t come so we asked again - they still hadn’t arrived so one of us had to stand up and ask someone to get them for the 3rd time. This showed us a lack of communication between the waiters. Later I realised that my salad was missing ingredients such as oil, vinegar and an egg I went up and told them what ingredients I had missing - they didn’t arrive so one of us went into the restaurant ourselves and got the oil and vinegar but we still hadn’t received the egg again this was a lack of communication. After asking for the 2nd time we didn’t get an apology but we did get the egg. Although it doesn’t seem that important when you order a meal you expect to get all of the ingredients in the dish. I wouldn’t recommend this place...

We should have been forewarned: on an evening when a free table in Colmar was rarer than hen's teeth, there was ample seating available in this place. Anyway, we were hungry and decided to give the place a try.

The waitress was friendly enough and drinks and food came quickly enough. My girlfriend had ordered a "tarte flambees" and it was obviously out of a supermarket freezer. Absolutely tasteless and they did not even manage to cook it through. I had ordered a bouchée à la reine and it was the saddest piece of food I had seen in a long time. Again, it was obviously from a sale at the local supermarket and both presentation and taste were more suited to a jail than a restaurant, especially at a eye-watering EUR 22.00!!!! According to the menu, it was supposed to come with either French fries or Spaetzle. I got spaghetti instead...

Avoid at all costs, if you cannot find a table elsewhere, buy a sandwich somewhere. The owners obviously don't care, judging by the lack of response to all the bad reviews they...

My girlfriend ordered a tarte flambee la munster and I ordered the burger with raclette cheese with fries and salad. The tarte flambee was pretty small, like a small pizza. It also wasn’t very good, pretty thick and just nothing special. For this quality 10,90 € is just too expensive. The salad, which I got with my burger, tasted like out of the bag. Very sure it wasn’t fresh salad. The dressing wasn’t that good as well, possible they bought it ready with the salad. The fries were ok, could have been better, especially if you pay around 15 € for the meal. The burger was pretty disappointing. I tasted only meat with cheese. Very rare other additions. I bet burger king or mc donalds meal would have been better and equally fresh. The ambience wasn’t that pretty as well. At least the service was ok.

No...

We went every day for dinner to this restaurant during our 4 days visit to Colmar. We tried their famous and delicious choucroute with five types of meat. Their sauerkraut is the best I have ever tasted. We also ordered the pork knuckle with munster cheese sauce. This dish was really delicious. Don't leave colmar without trying l'Amandine's burger with munster sauce as well. Another great thing about this restaurant (apart from the food and service) is the fact that, unlike the majority of restaurants in France that open certain hours for lunch and then from 19h for dinner, their kitchen is open all day so you can eat whenever you want. It has outdoors eating and the indoors have air conditioner. End your feast with their ice cream!

I'm not sure why this place has such a tepid rating. I enjoyed my dinner here. True, it wasn't super gourmet and nothing stood out, but everything was good. The steak I had was good (if just a bit tough) and it took a few minutes longer to come out than I would have expected given the number of customers there were, but otherwise there was nothing to complain about. My sangria was good; I'd definitely recommend it. The service was friendly as well, and the servers went out of their way to accommodate customers' languages, especially in English, which is always appreciated. Would I go out of my way to eat here? Not really. But would I come here again? Definitely.
