ABSOLUTELY THE WORST FUCKING RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. I’M STILL SHAKING WITH RAGE JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. THIS PLACE DESERVES TO BE BANNED FROM EXISTENCE.
WE WALKED IN THINKING WE’D HAVE A DECENT MEAL — YOU KNOW, BASIC HUMAN SHIT — AND INSTEAD WE GOT IGNORED FOR THIRTY MINUTES. NOT A SINGLE PERSON CAME TO OUR TABLE. NOT A “HELLO,” NOT A “GIVE US A SEC,” NOTHING. JUST STRAIGHT UP ACTED LIKE WE DIDN’T EXIST.
FINALLY, THIS WAITER SHOWS UP LOOKING LIKE HE HATES LIFE AND EVERYONE IN IT. AND I KID YOU NOT — HE THREW THE MENUS ON OUR TABLE LIKE HE WAS MAD WE EVEN HAD THE AUDACITY TO SHOW UP. NOT HANDED. NOT PLACED. THROWN. LIKE A FUCKING TEMPER TANTRUM.
AND THEN HE DISAPPEARS. AGAIN. WE TRY TO ASK FOR WATER — BASIC. FUCKING. WATER. — AND THIS DUDE HAS THE NERVE TO LOOK AT US LIKE WE JUST INSULTED HIS WHOLE FAMILY TREE, THEN SCREAMS, “I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS RIGHT NOW,” AND WALKS AWAY.
WHAT?!?? YOU DON’T HAVE TIME FOR… WATER??? THAT’S LITERALLY YOUR JOB. HOW ARE YOU SCREAMING AT CUSTOMERS FOR TRYING TO ORDER WATER? THAT’S NEXT LEVEL UNHINGED.
I’VE BEEN TO DIVE BARS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WITH BETTER SERVICE. HELL, I’D RATHER EAT A GAS STATION HOT DOG OFF THE FLOOR THAN EVER STEP FOOT IN THIS JOKE OF A PLACE AGAIN.
AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE VIBE — TABLES WERE DIRTY, THE MUSIC WAS BUSTED, AND THE STAFF ALL LOOKED LIKE THEY’D RATHER BE ANYWHERE ELSE. HONESTLY, SAME.

The food is not explained well on the menu. For example, the ceasar salad said it comes with crispy chicken but only had 2 small pieces, and the rest of the chicken was grilled. Then the courgette flowers came, 5 pieces, out of the 5, the 2 were non edible, they had a brown colour and different taste than the other 3. When we actually just mentioned it to the waiters, they questioned if we know what a courgette flower is and also was rude as they continued to question if they were edible or not! I explained again that they cooked 3 nice ones and 2 non edible. The waiter was ironic towards us, suggesting we don't know what we are talking about and then left and never came close to our table. The waiter and owner were rude throughout the whole time. After numerous times of explaining the situation, the owner speaking in French said to the waiter to tell us not to come again if the experience was bad, thinking we were only here as tourists. When I explained in French that I was not a tourist, the waiter insisted he could do nothing about our experience and also charged us full price for the plate! They didn't even offer a complimentary coffee or a sorry. We were 2 girls ordered 4 dishes and drinks, 2 of our dishes were bad and not as described on the menu and the other 2 were very low quality for the price we paid (over 100eur)

Read moreMy family and I returned to Café Hoche for a quick bite on Easter day, recalling an average experience from last year. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be the worst dining experience we've had in Cannes.
We ordered our meals, including a well-done cheeseburger for my 3-year-old son. After a 30-minute wait, upon inquiring, we were informed the delay was due to the burger. However, after 46 minutes, our food arrived cold and dried up, as if it had been sitting out for hours.
Expressing our dissatisfaction, the waiter acknowledged the issue by physically checking the food with his hands but blamed the kitchen and promised new dishes. The replacement for my son's cheeseburger was disturbingly undercooked, presenting a safety concern for a young child.
Deciding to leave, we faced further delays and confusion with the bill, first being presented with another table's bill of €165, then waiting an additional 10 minutes for our correct bill of €120. Throughout this ordeal, there was no apology, compensation, or acknowledgment of our wasted time and poor experience.
The staff and management seemed completely detached, contributing to a frustrating and disappointing 1.5 hours. It's disheartening to encounter such unprofessionalism, especially from a place we once enjoyed. We hope our feedback prompts Café Hoche to improve its service and...
