Volupté — Restaurant in Grasse

Unfortunately this place is loosing a lot of its standing!! Anywhere in the world, poached eggs or any egg portion is served by 2 eggs or 3 if the place is generous. Except Volupté!! It’s 1 Poached egg and still, you can’t call it poached… it’s an egg cracked in a bowl and heated in a microwave and brought in a cheap plate with 2 slices of bread and a cube of butter.. asked the waiter for a sunny side up egg instead cause the poached egg just unbeatable. Raw and white eggs still liquid.. even the sunny side up came with 1 yellow egg pierced. We just said that’s fine we don’t want to act difficult. Surprisingly, the poached egg was added on the bill and we ended up with a phenomenal explication from a waiter there who wanted to convince me that they invested in a machine that cost 10k just to make the poached eggs!! 😂 that was hilarious!!! 10k investment for this result?? I mean the owner should review definitely their investments. At the end we tipped the guy who served us who seemed a bit understanding just to show that it wasn’t a matter of money!! But it’s a matter of principles, and respect for the client’s intelligence and to care for the clients needs and requests. Luckily the coffee is still nice in this place till now!! I absolutely love it here! I searched for best breakfast in Cannes, and among many others which populated, I chose this one to try.

The Service was excellent, very friendly, attentive staff. They did not have avocado toast on the menu, but they said they would make it for me. I asked for my juice a certain way and that it be brought before the rest of my order, and they did so. Everything was brought in a timely way and was delicious.

I’m so grateful, because for several days I’ve been trying different recommended cafés and restaurants and was struggling with the service that was given to me. Unfortunately, I would not return to any of them but certainly to Volupté.
