We unfortunately could not even try the supposedly delicious crepes because of how rude the owner was.
The first time we tried to go we went at 1:30pm on a Thursday, as soon as my girlfriend walked in to ask for a seat, she didn’t even get the chance to say hi since the owner just shook his head and shoo’ed her away. He gave no explanation and continued to cook. I later asked him in French and turned out he was understaffed and could not serve any more people.
Understandable, so we decided to come back the next day. We initially arrived at 11:25am, all the tables were set outside and the door opened so we peeked in to see if it’s open, but as soon as the owner saw us, no “hi” nothing, “On n’est pas ouvert” (it’s not open). And no other explanation.
So we waited until 11:30am, the supposedly opening time on google (since the store itself doesn’t show its opening hours), my girlfriend walked in and as soon as she did he responded with “what are you doing, I’m cleaning the floors and you’re stepping on it, it’s not open!” And shoo’ed us away again with his hands. No hi or bye or come back later.
First of all, if you leave your door open, I think that gives a welcoming to customers to at least ask if the place is open? Second of all, if you’re gonna post the hours on google, at least abide to it or change it or display it on your own store instead of throwing a fit at your customers.
EDIT: BY THE WAY OWNER, in your reply, you stated that we sat on your terrace without saying hi, THATS NOT EVEN US, it was a different ASIAN COUPLE, but I’m not even Asian, so STOP MAKING ASSUMPTIONS AND OWN UP TO...
Read moreWe popped in for breakfast, David seated us even though he wasn't officially open. It was the lure of the vegan toast that advertised on the board outside that got us in.
My vegan toast, which was a buckwheat type pancake was lovely. The topping which consisted of chickpeas and sweet potatoes was so flavoursome. My daughter opted for chocolate crepes and was a very happy little lady.
We had Nana with us who has a smaller appetite and she had the egg, cheese and bacon crepe which was too much for her but said it was very lovely.
We had a lovely chat with David who told us about his cooking influences. As we went in before opening there were no other customers but I can imagine it gets rather...
Read moreWe had lunch today at 21 Martorell Creperie based on a recommendation from a friend. Everything about this place spoke to us. It was quaint and charming with just the right vibe. To our joy, the waiter spoke English. We had a traditional ham, egg, and cheese crepe along with a Daffy Duck (duck confit, cheddar, and sauted onions. Both made with buckwheat (gluten free) crepes. Delish! Best thing we've eaten in Paris this week. The Chef and waiter could not have been more friendly. Try this place out and you will be going back. Au Revoir, Bill & Becky from...
