I can’t be sure, but the bagels and doughnuts really look and taste like they are industrially made. For instance the bagels we received were definitely not cooked in the traditional way- most likely they are frozen and later baked because there are marks where you can see the dough has been pulled to separate each bagel from one another after being defrosted. Doughnuts look like what they offer at Starbucks. In any case, do not expect the taste or consistency of a traditional bagel - they are like the ones you buy in the US from Costco or another corporate chain in bulk. I was also disappointed because I asked for 1 topping- cream cheese- and I received barely enough cheese to cover 1 half of my bagel & I was unable to ration it out. Seems stingy to me.
Would recommend Bagels & Brownies at the other side of the 6eme if you are looking for a good bagel with fresher (& more) toppings and better service. For doughnuts, you will need to head to Boneshaker across the Seine in the early morning- they are not cheap, but they will satisfy you if you are American and know how...
Read moreTruth be said, the bagels are good, the ingredients taste fresh, the place is clean and if it weren't for the hot mustard we were served instead of US sweet mustard de asked for, it would have gotten an A+ on the food compartment. Why 2 stars? The service made me want to cancel my order and leave twice in less than 10 mins. Probably the rudest experience in this rather touristic area, even though there were little to no people inside then. This goes beyond not smiling and not greeting, but more like frowning, making faces, rolling eyes, sarcastic tone, snarky replies. I asked for a simple bagel, but was served this off-putting mean attitude on the side - which I def did not ask for. If you plan on going, be weary of the blond stout woman and her uneducated behaviour - and after reading the reviews, seems Im not the only one...

( Samedi 2...
