My first time here about 2 years ago was so amazing I had to go back!
What I remember the most was the service and quality of food! The crispy buckwheat crepe and perfectly sweet but not too sweet traditional sweet crepe were stuck in my mind, and I finally got a chance to go back (to this exact location bc this is a chain restaurant).
Unfortunately, my experience this time was pretty horrible. We got crammed into a tiny table right next to another tiny table. Zero space for me to even move around or get out of my seat!
Then the service was even worse. It took them forever to take our order then never checked on us even though we were sitting there not eating the food (bc we both ordered a savory and sweet crepe, they bring it to you one at a time). Then she forgot the rest of our meal and had the nerve to tell me I didn’t order 2 crepes when she repeated the order!
The buckwheat crepe was NOT crispy and the food was not seasoned. I literally only ate 1/3 of it. The server didn’t even care nor ask if anything was wrong.
Then the traditional caramel crepe just had a pool of watery sugar syrup (not caramel) was dumped in the middle of the crepe (rather than it being evenly drizzled).
Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the food bc we waited so long to order and we...
Read moreTerrible rude people work here. We came for breakfast at 9am- restaurant was not crowded at all. I was carrying a coffee and was told I can’t bring in. That’s fine- I finished it but there was no need to be so rude. After I finished we asked to be seated and were motioned to seats by the counter far from the window in a very nice morning. When I asked to sit by the window she said not possible it’s for four. However there was a table for two there as well that I pointed to. She kept barking at us that it was for four even though it was clearly a two top. Finally she waved her arms and sighed and “allowed” us to sit. After sitting for 10 minutes we decided to leave as we were clearly very unwelcome.
Not sure why she was so hostile to us from the moment we entered. Because we are Asian American? I had never had such a hostile greeting from anyone here and unfortunately it’s types like her that make people assume the French are rude.
Also a comment on the menu and restaurant itself- it appeared to be a French version of Denny’s made all the more unappealing by the inhospitable staff.
We left and went to a crepe stand and enjoyed delicious crepes...
