Comptoir du Panthéon — Restaurant in Paris

Horrible service. I came here with my husband and a friend (a local) who speaks fluent French. Sadly, we do not and I've found some find it worse when you make the attempt so i kept my requests simple . The waiter was so unbelievably rude only because we were American. They served 2 out of 3 entrees while a table appetizer was being eaten. The 3rd entree missing was a burger. 20min later the burger never showed, and we had to get up and ask the bartender to check. Manager came over and spoke to us like we were stupid for wanting the 3rd entree since the rest of the group was now finished although the the appetizer was still being worked on. Finally the ordered medium rare burger showed up after 3 people asked. It was RAW. Raw chopped meat. The waiter explained to our French speaking friend the French consider medium rare different than the English and it's what he ordered. I am a classicly trained French chef and raw is raw. A raw burger doesn't take 30 minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if they tampered further with the food...the other two meals were mediocre. Overcooked tagliatelle. I have to write a review because of the MOUSE! Seriously, this place is a joke. I don't know why it could get a 4.0-star review. So my friend and I went for a dinner at the place. Soon after we sat down, we realized that something was running around on the floor. Turns out it was a mouse! I couldn't feel more gross 🤮 The whole meal I just kept thinking about it. Unfortunately, we spotted the mouse after the order has been placed, so we couldn't just leave and go to another place. To make it worse, my friend's chicken supreme didn't look/taste supreme at all. The food portion was small for a €17 dish, and honestly the presentation couldn't look more boring. But I get it, the place has a really good location. one of the best restaurants ive ever had the pleasure of eating in, not only was the service amazingly fast, but the employees were all smiles, friendly and were cracking jokes, terrific atmosphere! The food was served surprisingly fast, me and my friend got our orders in 15 minutes (!!) while the restaurant was almost full, the proportions were generous, and the dishes we ordered were well made, with fresh produce, meat and fish (special mention to the fries being just right, delicious). The creme brulee i ordered for dessert was simply exquisite.

On top of all the excellent food, service and atmosphere, the view is simply superb, on one side, the eiffel tower and the Luxembourg garden and the other the famed Pantheon housing France's finest.
