Never coming back to trantranzai
We visited their new Montparnasse location and ordered the same dishes we’ve been enjoying for the past five years at their other branches. Unfortunately, this experience was a major letdown.
First, they forgot to serve us the edamame. When we asked about it, the server casually said, “It’s cooking.” No update after that. Then, when they asked how the food was, we couldn’t believe it - it was sweet. One of the reasons I loved their food was that it was never overly sweet, but this time it felt like a completely different dish.
When I mentioned it to the staff, they casually said, “Oh, the recipe here is different.” What? How can the same restaurant serve different food at different locations without any notice?
To top it off, when we went to pay and mentioned that our edamame never arrived, the staff claimed we had already left, so they couldn’t serve it. Are you kidding me? Sides should come with the main course, not after. And if there’s a delay, you should at least let the customer know.
Completely unprofessional and disappointing. We won’t...
Read moreThe food was good but our dog sat under the table and we realized after two minutes that he sat in a huge glue rat trap. Thé service brought warm water and a Towel so we could try to take off some of the glue but it wasnt really working as thé glue was very Strong. Thé service seemed uncomfortable that they forgot to hide thé traps in the Morning but my concern is more that glue traps are animal torture. Also they forgot our entrées. After asking for it while we got our main course thé server Said „it Will come“ but it didnt. We asked again and got the Same answer. After Finishing our meal we abandoned thé entrée and they took them off thé bill like they was doing us a Favour. Not wanting to Sound cheap - im Not looking for paying less because I cant afford - but making us spend Hours in the bathroom with our dog to get thé glue out of his fur because your service forgot to hide your rat traps and also completely forgot to serve entrée Even after asking twice - this would have been a good opportunity to show that you actually care about...
Read moreDecided to check out this location as tested out the Chatelet one and was pretty happy with my meal.
Love the decoration and feel of the place. Servers are nice. I was skeptical about my passion fruit tea drink as I had forgotten to ask them to reduce the sugar but it was actually quite good and enjoyable.
I picked the Dan Dan noodles with pork without soup and zero spice level. It was ok but for some reason, there was something in there that left a weird, numbing sensation in my mouth (not spicy related and I also don't have any food allergies so can't really pinpoint what it was). I still finished it though but all I know was that I was incredibly thirsty afterwards so maybe a bit too much MSG or other flavour enhancer...pretty sure I had the same thing at the other Trantranzai and didn't have that same after...
