We loved everything about this place that we ate twice goingbthete for our last meal before we left Paris. Everyone was attentive, and pitched in to make sure all the guests were cared for. Juliette was our server both times, and we appreciated her guidance in choosing our meals and accompanying wines. She was extremely helpful and honest noting the differences in cultural aspects of food. We never felt like an annoyance. The onion soup was amazing. Didn't have that flavor anywhere else we had it. The bread was fresh and plentiful. The ravioli starter was so good, I could have eaten it as a meal. We had the salmon, sirloin steak, rib steak, and duck. If you like your beef medium, ask for medium well, but the duck was perfect asking for medium. My husband didn't eat the sauce with his rib steak, saying the meat tasted so good on its own. He said it was different, and I assume that is the difference with our corn fed cows in the US. But the salmon was his favorite of the two. It tasted like it just came out of the water and was perfectly cooked. I enjoyed the sirloin as but would order duck just becuase its not in the menu often enough and it was that good. The fries and salad accompaniments were plentiful. I prefer the creme brulee over the apple crumb, but I'm not an apple dessert person. I will eat creme brulee anytime it's on the menu and it's everywhere in France. Here, I found it had a crunchier shell the way I prefer it. Both desserts are made in-house and won't disappoint. We loved the atmosphere and decor. The music was lively but low enough so you could talk and be heard. Luckily, hubby visits Paris for business, so I know we...
Read moreWe came here for our one-year wedding anniversary on a recommendation from our hotel concierge, and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is tucked away behind the main street, but once you find it, the restaurant is quite nice. They have both outdoor and indoor seating.
The servers were very helpful and did an excellent job in making us feel welcome and comfortable. They gave my wife a great recommendation on her glass of wine. They also made sure I was aware of what I was ordering (sliced veal kidneys) as I assume they've had interesting experiences with tourists previously who don't realize what that is. To be clear, yes, I did know and I did actually want to try it, and it was quite good for anyone feeling adventurous with their food! It tasted kind of like liver to me but with less iron, and the sauce they provided to go with the dish really helped augment and balance the taste. We also had l'escargot here and they were delicious! My wife had the tuna tataki, which also tasted great. I'm intrigued by the dressing they put on the salad that went with her tuna (I presume it was soy-sauce based), as it tasted a little sweet but not overwhelming. All around great food!
The music they had going while we were there was a mix of contemporary and modern music (80's, 90's, 2000's, 2020's), and we loved that the servers were dancing along in between serving tables and having a good time! It made for a great and fun atmosphere, and we will most certainly be back the next time...
Read moreA hidden gem on a quiet sidestreet. Atelier du Marché was a fanastic experience for us. We had the onion soup and bone marrow for starters, the veal sweetbread and the tartare as mains, and for dessert--the chocolate mousse and the thin apple pie with ice cream. Every dish was heavenly and well portioned. We enjoyed every aspect of our meal thoroughly.
All of the wait staff were incredibly hospitable and kind, and our waiter was very encouraging with us as we tried to use some French to the best of our ability to ask for recommendations and to order! I'm glad they were so patient with us. The food was phenomenal, particularly, we both fell in love with the sweetbread as it is a very special dish that we had never had before. The tartare was delicious, and we were beginning to fill up even though this was our only meal of the day after a long day of walking across Paris. The wine was delicious and well priced, and the bread they brought out was a perfect pairing with the best french onion soup I've ever had.
We ate outside, however the atmosphere inside appeared equally as cozy and comfortable as the front of the restaurant.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. We left smiling from ear to ear. I hope we can visit Paris again soon to return and try more dishes from...
