Food & drink : Excellent food with a magnificent presentation. Oysters, lobster, scallops, beef – all delicious. The cocktails were equally spectacular – a nice balance of alcohol, neither overpowering nor tasteless. Reservation timeliness: On New Years Eve, we had a reservation at 22:00, but were seated at 22:30. Service timeliness: While beverages and appetizers were served timely, our entrees were quite delayed. Our entrees arrived at 0:20, nearly two hours after we were seated. After our original waiter left for the evening, his assistant took over serving us for the remainder of the night. Perhaps a result of this transition, no one informed when the kitchen was closing and when dessert needed to be ordered. When we requested a dessert menu after finishing our entrees, we were informed that dessert was not possible as the kitchen had already closed. Hospitality: While most employees were generally professional and friendly, a server from another table (male, early 30s, dark blonde hair with a goatee) initiated a brief disagreement with our waiter (in front of our table) around 0:45, although it was not clear what the argument was about. Prior to us finishing our after-dinner drinks, this same gentleman loudly and unprofessionally slapped the check down on our table. As this other waiter had not served us at any point during the evening, the unprofessionalism was especially unsettling. After we had closed our bill, the same waiter brought dessert to another one of his tables. While presumably this had been ordered before the kitchen had closed, the inconsistent treatment between tables left us unsatisfied. When asking the manager how another table could be served dessert after we were told that it was not possible to order, I was simply told that this was a service failure as our water should have prompted us to order – no other apology was given.

Me and my partner came to this restaurant after having walked past it and thought it looked good. We went on a Saturday evening and it was quiet, we were greeted by a lovely hostess. Our orders were taken, my partner ordered the steak and when it arrived we weren’t given a steak knife and she couldn’t cut into it. I tried to get one waitresses attention and was ignored, I got our waiters attention and asked for a steak knife and he threw his hand on his head and got us one. When my partner cut into the steak and the meat was incredibly tough was cold, I tried once again to get the attention of the waiter but we couldn’t. No one came to check on us during our meal either, (even though the manager went around to every table to check on their meal but us) so we couldn’t bring it to anyone’s attention. A shift swap then happened and we got a new waiter, when he came to clear our plates I said that the steak was cold, his response was ‘why didn’t you say anything earlier, we could’ve re-heated it’ I said ‘we tried but no one came over to us’ he then proceeded to put his hand up in the air and looked around the room and said ‘well I can pass it on but that’s it’ I was shocked at this point by his manner and tone and replied ‘I just wanted to let you know, that’s all’ and he said nothing and cleared our plates. I was upset at this point since I felt quite embarrassed, and wanted to leave. The general experience was really bad, there were dirty dishes visible to us in the restaurant, and in the same area where they were preparing other tables fishes and heating snails, after reading other similar reviews of rude staff and cold food (also one where a mouse was under a table) I would not be back and would definitely not recommend. It’s quite an expensive restaurant and presents itself on the higher end, which it is not. We also never received an apology for the food being cold just embarrassment, as two young women in a couple I couldn’t help but wonder if they would have treated a man in a suit with the same level of embarrassment, or if the manager would have also came to check on us...

Had reservations , were welcomed at the door and they took our coats. Our party of 5 ordered. But only 4 meals were delivered. Our daughter sat watching us eat until her meal came. Our waitress went on break after taking our order. There was a lack of attention til we flagged down a staff member to ask for the missing order.

The hottest part of my meal was the finger bowl. The moules were tepid and the frites cold. My husband’s scallops with risotto was a disaster , an Inferior undercooked ( not aborio) rice in a gloopy soup with a mass of cheese sitting atop . Photo below. Way overpriced food dish for the lack of quality. My mother in laws side dish only was delivered after she was half way through her meal - a side of cold rice to accompany her fish dish.

The only good food we had was the raw seafood. Oysters and tar tare were good but anything that came cooked was a real disappointment. It’s not that the staff were not working - they kept passing our table in a quick paste walk they made the floor and table shake. They seemed stressed out and in a rush. The restaurant was quite empty , they were understaffed up front , likely in the kitchen too.

The first time at La Lorraine was disappointing due to cold fries served with mussels, and a server distracted by his phone - difficult time getting inattentive waiter ´s attention to order a glass of wine .

this time the mussels and the fries were terrible , cold/lukewarm - moules should give your face a steam bath when the lid is opened - Cold seafood seems to be the specialty here but for huîtres I will go elsewhere. ( l’huîtrier restaurant on sauussier ) This place perhaps is still in business because of its location and beautiful historical building, so many tourists go. I live very close to this restaurant but won’t waste more money...
