Au Palais de l'Himalaya — Restaurant in Paris

Himalaya Restaurant in Paris was an absolute delight from start to finish. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and service-oriented, making sure that every detail of our dining experience was perfect. Unlike many places where you just feel like another customer, here we truly felt cared for.

They went above and beyond to check if everything was to our liking, happily accommodating small requests and ensuring the food was served just the way we wanted. Their friendliness and professionalism created such a welcoming atmosphere.

The food itself was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each dish had an authentic taste, and the quality matched the care put into the service. Prices were fair for Paris standards, especially considering the overall experience.

Terrible service, worse food. It was about 30°C, the waiter took our drink orders then took orders, served drinks AND food to a table next to us before even bringing our drinks.

Then there was the food... The chicken is tough and hard like a fist, in a tasteless sauce ('Himalayan Chicken', waiter described as chicken in a tasty garlicy sauce). The garlic naan only had a little garlic in the centre. The Paneer (meant to be chunks of rubbery cheese) was dollops of melted creme cheese that tasted like gone-off milk in a lightly flavoured mutter curry (pea curry).

If I could give less than 1/5 stars I would. It baffles me how they can get away with calling this Indian cuisine....

During one of my visits to Paris, I coincidentally saw this restaurant as I was walking towards Sacré Coeur and decided to step in for lunch. It was a wow experience and felt like being in home country. The owner himself sat with me and we had a good chit-chat. I explained that I don't eat non-veg and they served me with delicious vegetarian food for 24 Euros. As a gesture of goodwill, they offered me complementary dessert. Great hospitality!
