Food is average. The problem is the service and attitude. We arrived with a 10 year old. They have nothing for kids - ok. We asked if they had salmon which they did so we asked for plain grilled salmon with steamed rice. “Impossible!” - the salmon is covered in a sauce and the chef cannot not put the sauce on the salmon. It would cause huge confusion. Really?! So I went to find take away food for my daughter to eat while we ate ours. When they saw this they were not happy and made an issue of it but we ignored them and insisted that our daughter be allowed to eat. In the meanwhile my Tom Kha Gai arrived which was totally inedible. The soup was a sour water. I lived in Asia for 20 years. Never have I tasted such rank Tom Kha Gai which by the way, they tried to charge us for. To get this removed from the bill was a huge fight but it was a matter of principle. I tried to explain that in any restaurant when the food is not edible and sent back it should not be charged. This is normal. The response was the “you are in France now!” It’s a nice looking place but unfortunately the food and especially...

Food was mediocre at best, expensive for the quality, and a waste of ingredients. I should have guessed when the food arrived less than 5 minutes after ordering it.

"Vegetables in green curry": the curry was watered down, and barely spicy (though it was supposed to be spicier than the red curry), and the dish was overall flavorless.

Pad Thai (vegetables/ chicken) had a little bit of spice to it, and was slightly more seasoned, but again, not pleasant to eat.

Rice with vegetables: the rice was bland, watery and oily at the same time, and overall a dissapointment.

Across all dishes: what were supposed to be delicious vegetables, ended up in that unpleasant area of being neither completely raw nor completely cooked, just unpleasant to eat.

On top of everything there was a slight moldy smell, significantly getting stronger as one went down to the bathroom. Decor wise, each table has a candle and some scattered rose petals straight on the table, but these ended up looking messy, like someone dropped food on the table.

Will not go back and do...

Terrible, unpolite and respectless staff toward me and my family during our grandfather's 80s birthday. We asked for fruit at 10.50 and they told us that the kitchen was closed already when it was suppose to close 10 minutes later. Moreover after arguing about this they started shouting to us and telling us off, (doing also the finger to my aunt) that we were late for the dinner (we were not, we arrived at 9.30 sharp), that we ate slowly and all kind of sterotyoes about italy. i really discourage you to go in this place since even the manager could not show a sign of respect to us. we are clients and we are experiencing your service and since we are paying it is the minimum to show at least a sign of respect and just apologize for the inconvienence. by the way the bill was 500€ and they kept shouting that we had to pay (we paid obviously). I repeat it is a matter of respect, it's not about money. Probably they are going to cancel my comment as they did to my uncle....

Au Petit Thai was very busy yesterday at lunchtime but I was very fortunate to be seated immediately. The restaurant was packed full house with diners enjoying their lunch. The crowd appeared to be largely locals. I had a tasting menu and all items were freshly prepared and hot. See the picture of this menu item. The papaya salad was fresh and good, but should have been spicy and should have contained dried shrimp. The duck, chicken and shrimp were all tasty and well prepared. I was lucky to have been waited on by a pleasant and helpful Thai waiter, Am. I suggest you go for lunch or dinner a bit late as the were not having people wait, but within 45 minutes tables were clearing. If you love Thai food, you can not go wrong here. Prices were good for this area, Le Marais. The atmosphere was charming.

We used to love this restaurant and visited occasionally. The decoration is still lovely. However, we found that both the food and service have declined compared to before. The waiter who served us on the first floor was not very patient, he didn’t let us finish our questions and seemed very preoccupied, even bringing the wrong order. The food (beef Pad Thai and pineapple fried rice) was also very disappointing. I don’t recommend this place at moment. I hope they can return to the level of quality they had before.

This place would be 5 stars if it weren’t for the abysmal service - no doubt fuelled by the pressure on staff as each server had one floor and all the tables and bar to work. The food was great (recommend the pad Thai and the spring rolls) but the night dragged on waiting to be served and waiting for the food. Unfortunately this is a case where the majority of other views are correct, I wouldn’t recommend.
