Bedford Diner — Restaurant in Paris

Well. . . we loved the ‘Faux Filet Black Angus maturé 6 semaines’ (6 weeks matured filet steak to share for two).

There was lots of salad on the side, the fries were all right - although it doesn’t make any sense to me to serve them in a glass jar (will make them too mushy). At an overall 44,- Euros, the price was very reasonable for a steak like this for two people.

They serve food non-stop, so you can even enjoy your lunch late in the afternoon. That’s a rare find in town.

That's about it, though. . . everything else, not so cool.

When we arrived, I am very sure I smelled something herbal in the air. Not sure who was smoking and I don’t wish to get anyone into trouble. . . but I do have to say that that’s simply a super wrong thing in central Paris at a restaurant.

Service was not very present at all during a very quiet period of the weekend and more than enough staff on hand. It took a while until we got our order in. After finishing our lunch, nothing happened for easily 20 minutes, probably even more. Our plates were still sitting on the table.

Nobody enquired whether we enjoyed our food, if there was anything else we’d like. . . Eventually we had to got up to the bar to ask for the bill.

The music was some boring French selection, not fitting with the otherwise quite cool vibe and interior design of the place. I would expect something along the lines of rock’n’roll or california surf style music.

This place could be a lot better with good service. . . which really isn’t that difficult to achieve. I might come back, if I have a strong craving for the exact same steak and the other local places I like better are...

NEVER EVER AGAIN! RUDE UNFRIENDLY DONT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER I’m still super upset about what happened today. First the waitress was super annoying and didn’t leave us alone We ordered food and then we were waiting.. ..waiting for about an hour We started wandering where the food is and I decided to go inside and ask. The waitress was gone already and only the guy at the bar was still there. So I asked him where the food is. He didn’t know about any food (because the waitress did not enter our order!) and kept asking what we ordered but I told him that we were waiting for over one hour and that we want to pay now (for the coke that we didn’t even wanted but since the waitress was so annoying we felt like we have to order a drink). He left and didn’t come back so we just left (super upset) But then he run after us yelling that we have to pay for the coke He got super unfriendly and rude! I still can’t believe it how less they care about...

Bonjour, la serveuse au cheveux bleu et tatouages a été absolument ODIEUSE en l'espace de seulement quelques secondes ! Nous avons voulu nous installer sur la terrasse, elle est arrivée et souhaitait prendre les sauces sur la table mais je gênais son passage de toute évidence, sans même un "Bonjour" elle a soufflé très fort dans mon dos pour que je me pousse ! Nous avons tenté d'attraper une 4ème chaise à côté car nous étions 4, elle nous a demandé sur un ton exaspéré ce que nous étions en train de faire ?? Nous lui avons répondu avec grand étonnement que nous étions 4 et qu'il n'y avait que 3 chaises à cette table, que nous souhaitions boire un verre. Elle nous a répondu que si nous prenions la chaise d'à côté il ne resterait plus assez de chaise pour l'autre table (il n'y avait personne à cette autre table bien entendu) !!! Donc j'imagine que la 4ème personne avec nous aurait du rester debout à côté ??? En à peine quelques secondes nous avons eu droit à un accueil méprisant, un ton insolent et une attitude désobligeante : quelle est cette manière inacceptable de s'adresser aux gens ? D'autant plus lorsqu'on est serveuse et que c'est son métier d'accueillir les clients ??? Je pense sérieusement que vous devriez immédiatement changer de métier car vous n'êtes vraiment pas à votre place. Nous étions choqués ! Bien entendu nous sommes immédiatement partis de cet endroit. En partant nous l'avons vu à l'intérieur faire de grands gestes et faisant mine que sa tête allait exploser. Il n'était que 19h00 et le bar ferme à 2h d'après Google, j'ai eu pitié pour elle. Je ne sais pas qui est le propriétaire cet établissement mais cette serveuse vous dessert énormément. (Edit : d'après les autres commentaires vous agissez de la même manière que votre serveuse, c'est du beau !)....
