The place looks quite clean and tempting. However, the products the we tried (a pain viennois, a quiche and a flan) were mediocre at best. Only one star is due to ridiculously unprofessional staff. There were 5 or 6 round apple pies in the window. There is a price for a whole one and explicitly for a piece (3.30 EUR). We asked for a piece and then drama begun. A girl at the counter was totally confused. She went to the back of the shop to talk to another person and finally after a couple of minutes she came back telling us that she is allowed to share the pie and she charged us for it. However, she still didn't know in how many pieces she should cut it. So, after another 10 minutes of waiting (and her shouting for the other girl to come out), the other girl appeared, picked up the only burned pie from the window and said only "this". When I refused to take a piece of that one (the first girl offered us another, a good looking one), the second girl responded with something like "this or nothing" in a very aggressive, grumpy and rude way. It's absolutely out of line and beyond anything that we have ever experienced in Paris. The first one blushed, tried to apologize and finally returned us money for the piece of the pie that...
Read moreI often get my bread at this bakery. I decided to try their sandwiches this morning.
I saw a fly hovering over the sandwiches stacked on top of the display case. I waved my hand to get the fly away and hundreds of flies already on the sandwiches took flight into the air. Disgusting, and they sell the sandwiches knowing this. The girl behind the counter was so embarrassed she burst out laughing and i walked out and will never return.
There are ways to get rid of flies and fruit flies in bakeries and restaurants. They are not new and they do not cost very much.
But the French seem not to care. I almost threw up as i have eaten those sandwiches before. How irresponsible of the owner, how callus towards the customer must you be in order to serve food covered by flies to customers all day long every day.
Never again will i return and i recommend you do not eat there unless you like flies and maggot eggs...
Read moreSo many delicious looking things to choose from. I decided you only live once so bought a cheesecake, almond croissant, fruit tartlet and a salad. The cheesecake was different to the type we have in Australia but I liked it just as much as my favourite homemade cheesecake; it had a more granulated texture and the crust was amazing. The almond croissant was out of this world, like a cross between an excellent croissant and a cookie somehow. No almond croissant at home will ever come close! The fruit in the tartlet was delicious and the pastry was excellent though I missed the custard that I thought I'd find in it but was completely absent. I can't remember which salad I bought but it was a satisfying meal, healthy and not too big. I wish this was my local! Then again, it's probably good for my health...
