Brasserie À Saint-Malo — Restaurant in Paris

This is a gorgeous brasserie with an extremely attentive and friendly staff. My husband and I only know enough French to get by, but the staff is very pleasant and courteous, willing to help us with our French when asked but also willing to speak English if needed. We've been here several times in the past week because the food is so good and the service is so great. So far, we've tried the onion soup, rib steak, beef tartare, beef bourguignon, chicken roti, veggie burger, crepe flambe, chocolate lava cake, apple pie, various coffees, champagne, etc. and everything has been delicious, with the rib steak being my favorite. The service was so rude from the start when we arrive, they left some of our friends standing up. However the demanded that everyone consumed something even though they were not offered a sit. They were showing a football match but with no sound and constantly standing in front of the screen, the beer was not even cold. If you like being served by rude people and eating average food while missing the typical Parisian brasserie experience, go there. The passive/aggressive waitress who says yes to everything you ask for but never executes, and who at the same time takes offense when you point out that after waiting a quarter of an hour it may have been too late to bring a simple little jar of mustard, prompted me to take the time to put this rating and these comments.
