Indiana Café - Montparnasse — Restaurant in Paris

Found this America themed restaurant as looking for somewhere family friendly to eat and needed to get in out of the rain.

Typical American cuisine - burgers, steaks etc with a kids menu priced at 9 Euros each.

My partner had a small appetite so only wanted a little portion but was shouted down by the brash male waiter when trying to order the fish and chips from the kid’s menu. Feeling flustered and embarrassed she reluctantly chose something else.

Once this had been overcome, then food was brought to us by a female waiter who was very attentive and did all she could to make our experience enjoyable.

Our children enjoyed their cheeseburgers, fries, churros and apple juice. And our bacon cheeseburger and fries and fish burger (a piece of battered cod in a bun with tartar sauce) and fries hit the mark too.

Slightly more expensive than other restaurants we had visited in the area at 65 Euros for our five meals and definitely less impressive customers service. We...

We (me and my wife) arrived at the bar and the waitress sat us at a table near the entrance. After waiting for 20 minutes to be served the manager asked us to change tables because that was a table for three people. He pointed to another vacant table squeezed into the corner of the bar and shared with others.

We asked to stay there because the bar was not full, he simply said that it was not possible and that if that was the case we could leave.

We asked the waitress about the issue but she left without answering us.

My family ate at this location today, even though there are mixed reviews. We found the food to be excellent. The value for the money combined with the large portion sizes is great. Lots of reviews complain about service and/or discrimination about English being spoken. This could not be further from the truth with our experience. Our family is a mixed group of various nationalities and native languages - none of which are French - and had nothing but the best, most respectful service possible. Food came out hot and fast.
