We ducked into Cafe La Belle randomly while out shopping to get some breakfast. It seemed to be a good restaurant based on the reviews and was pretty convenient to the shops.
The service was prompt but not overly friendly, and the food and ambiance was decent. I can't give it more than three stars though because of the generally high pricing and lack of flexibility.
For reference our breakfast came out to about $61 US for two people. That isn't too far out of line for the area but I expect a little better for that price. While they have several types of omelets on the menu, most have a single ingredient like Spinach. Maybe it's an American thing but my GF really wanted a mixed veggie omelet with ham, and even though they had all the ingredients (based on the other omelets) they kind of balked and would only make one with a couple of the items. Didn't have this issue with other places in Paris so can't ascribe it as a French thing - but just a little disappointment with a seemingly simple request which we would have happily paid more for.
Like many places they offered fresh squeezed OJ, which came out to be the most expensive item at close to $10.50 per glass. Yeah, so $21 of the $61 for for 2 glasses of OJ. Maybe that makes the rest of the meal more reasonable. lol
The rest of the meal consisted of bacon and eggs which came in a little bowl and wasn't bad, some coffee and a croissant. Overall I don't think you'll regret eating here but I wouldn't go out of your...
Read moreProbably the worst customer experience ever. I live in the neighbourhood (2 min from the café to say the least). They never make me feel welcome. Today, I had enough. They made me move place after I ordered a full breakfast (La belle fée at 22€). There was barely anyone in the café at 9am this morning, so the move was unjustified. This is a trend that I noticed : near the Champs Elysées, the cafés and restaurants tend to think nobody lives there so there is no need to nurture relationships with customers. It is a shame, because : I'm a regular customer at this place. I take full breakfasts. Then I stay and work from the brasserie. At lunch time, I had three business lunches there in the past weeks. When I'm alone, I eat salads or the menu of the day with desserts. And when I'm in the neighbourhood I usually come back for a drink. With my kid, I used to come for the gouter. Needless to say they won't see me (and my...
Read moreMy worst ever experience in a Restaurant. Tonight my wife and I ordered 2 x burgers and 2 x drinks.. Early on after receiving our meal a mouse popped out from underneath my wife's seat (we were seated near the kitchen).. I quickly informed a gentleman who I thought maybe a manager.. Despite him also seeing the mouse he did not seem bothered at all.. Then we also informed our waitress who also just didn't seem interested, she simply gave us our bill of 80 euros despite us pointing out we were not willing to consume anymore of our food / drink.. We then paid and as we were leaving informed the girl looking after customers at the door of the situation. Again she was not bothered at all.. I am of the opinion that this place has a mouse problem that the staff are aware of yet still serve food...
