Absolutely five stars for Au Caveau Montpensier! Tucked away in the 1ère, this cozy little gem is all about good vibes, great drinks, and the warmest service in Paris. The nachos are the only food on the menu, and honestly, that’s all you need. But the real star? The fit Scottish head bartender shaking up cocktails and charming the crowd doesn’t hurt either. Expect an international crowd, super friendly energy, and the kind of spot that feels like your local, no matter where you’re from.

This cozy bar is on a side street, so it is away from the hustle and bustle of Paris even though it is in the 1st arrondissement! You can’t beat the ambiance - from the stone walls, to being greeted by Toby the Dalmatian when you step in the front door! The owner is an American, so it is a great place to escape if you need a break from speaking French for a couple hours. Friendly staff, great drink selection! I definitely stop in every time I am in town!

Was on vacation in Paris staying near here. Stumbled upon this place the second to last night in town and so sad we didn’t find it sooner. The vibe of this place is incredible, hilarious bartender named Alberto who had us laughing the whole night. He also seems to bring in quite the group of regulars, who also contributed to the vibe. Cosmo, Espresso Martini, and Hoegaarden all were delicious. Will definitely come again when in Paris!

Great selection of top tier European beers here. Tried some new ones and loved them. Good location, convenient to many of the landmarks along the Seine and still a smallish bar with a low key vibe. Bartender Jeb is from the US and is a really cool guy. Perfect person to talk to for a Paris newcomer like me. He helped me figure out cultural misunderstandings (turns out paying for water at restaurants is NOT required in Paris) and brainstorm things to do for the rest of my time here. Also really nice to chat with someone who knows where things are and what's going on in the States. Ask Jeb about his Dalmatian puppy. You may get to meet him. Really sweet and may lick your shoelaces if you sit...

We were so excited about this place. Found it kind of randomly and stopped in during an American football game. We were watching the Michigan game (on every TV in the place) and the owner was super rude to us and asked us to leave because he couldn’t see the game (we were sitting at a table near one of the TVs). So we moved but he continued to be rude to us and then sent over a friend of his to try to smooth things over - we ordered a few more drinks anyway, paid for them, and then as we left the bar staff accused us of not paying. Then, even after it was confirmed we did pay, the door guy stood in our way to get out and then followed us a bit down the street. We really wanted to...
