I was stuck in the hotel bathroom for half an hour today (around 7:15am to 7:43am). I CANNOT imagine how many hours would I be stuck if I did not bring my phone into the bathroom?!!
I woke up and wanted to take a bath. But the bathroom door cannot be opened when you are in the bathroom. Although there is a telephone jack, there is no telephone in the room.
I am just a traveller, I bought an Europe esim with data only. I tried to connect the hotel via google chat, email etc. At the same time I yelled loud for half an hour in the bathroom but nobody answered. The room is in the first floor and is the closest room to the front desk I believe.
God bless me I did not unplug my Canadian SIM card. So I have to pay $20 to turned on this line to make this international call to the hotel.
This is the most horrible experience in my life. Moreover, I have a 9am appointment and a 4pm Eurostar to leave France today.
The solution when I got out of the bathroom was to offer me a breakfast. Is that it??? I could not accept it and checked out at 8:38am. I will contact my lawyer about this.
Update: For your response, what’s happened’s happened.
If you check dysfunction everyday, how come I could not open the washroom door?
“‘exactly’ when I call, she opened my email”: When I call, she sounded calm and didn't know anything about it. And she was super shocked when I told her I couldn’t get out of the washroom. Until now, Neither google chat nor email received a reply.
“would have never been left in there for hours”: There are various possibilities for things that have never happened. Just need a mouth.
I was crying and emotionally unstable, And I have to calm down and tell you about my SIM card and appointment in just a few minutes? I almost missed my appointment at that day.
“would have acted differently”: this means other people who had a SIM card and did not have an appointment only deserves a...
Read moreI’ve stayed in some questionable hotels, but the Hotel Moliere takes the crown. For 434 euros, I expected something more than a spare room under the extremely hot roof. Upon arrival, I was informed that the air conditioning was “insufficient” for the room, so they’d thoughtfully placed a mobile unit inside. Yes, a mobile unit, the kind that sounds like a jet engine taking off every time you switch it on. And of course it also means a hose sticking out of the window which in turn means you get woken up by the sounds of Paris waking up at 5:30am, if you could sleep at all. The reception staff were friendly but useless. As a fix for the terrible room situation they offered me ‘free’ breakfast (remember this is a 434€ room) and when the pipe detached from the air conditioning unit I was given a roll of double sided tape to fix it myself. I didn’t bother to mention the loose toilet seat as I would have probably been given a screwdriver.
Positives: free minibar containing coke, water, ice tea. Coffee capsules and tea and a steamer in the rooms tiny wardrobe and a good location. Oh and a lovely breakfast buffet with attentive staff.
Lesson (expensively) learned - better to pay for a good hotel further out and a taxi than to stay in Fawlty Towers of Rue Moliere again.
Edited: The reply of the hotel adds insult to injury. Of course I IMMEDIATELY raised my displeasure about the room upon arrrival and asked for another one. The receptionist denied my request. The reply confirms the overall impression...
Read moreBooked this hotel because our preferred hotel was closed for renovation, and wow did we luck out! ||Location: Hotel Moliere is slightly off the beaten path, lending to a more authentic and less touristy experience. In 20 minutes you can be at the Louvre, the Seine, Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, and more! Huge bonus - next door is a fantastic bakery that we visited daily. Down the street is a grocery store and many delicious restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk.||Rooms: Well appointed King rooms with luxurious Nuxe bath products, giant bathtubs, complimentary drinks in the mini fridge that are refilled every 4 days, and a glass water bottle they refill daily. Our diverse group included one person with a bad knee, one person who can only sleep on firm mattresses, one person who can only sleep on soft mattresses, and one person who needs the room to be 68F or lower to sleep. We all slept well and enjoyed our time at Hotel Moliere. The beds were the borderline between too hard/too soft, meaning they pleased everyone. The air conditioning was a lifesaver when temperatures hit 102.||We did not opt in to the daily breakfast, and I am very thankful. It looked lackluster whenever we'd walk by, and we enjoyed the bakery next door for considerably less money. Beware - the front desk pushes their breakfast a lot. They asked us, multiple times each day, if we were going to eat breakfast at the hotel, what time we wanted a table for, and when we would make a...
