The manager is extremely rude. This hotel is trying to blame me for the drain in the shower not functioning. It flooded my room and my husband and I had to pack our things and move. I still had wet hair. I didn't do anything other than take a shower. The shower is designed without a door or any raised ledge to stop water from flowing out if the drain is clogged. I didn't see that the water wasn't draining because I was busy washing my hair and assuming it was functional. I just got an email continuing to blame me. I have never heard of a hotel blaming the guest for something broken on their property before. I've actually never encountered this type of issue before. I guess this is what I get for trying to get a bargain at a cheap hotel. It's truly unbelievable.||||My original review is missing as well||||When the shower drain in my room broke and flooded the room, they expected me to pay for their faulty plumbing.||||They didn't even notify me at the time and waited to tell me at checkout. We checked into this hotel after leaving another hotel that was pretty awful. We were so happy to find this hotel. It’s so charming and pretty inside, and the room was the same. The woman who checked us in, was also very pleasant and accommodating.

When you walk into the hotel, the dining room is just off to the side, and it is very charming and elegant and inviting. I wanted to immediately go and sit down, and have a coffee or something. I knew instantly that we had moved way up the ladder from the hotel that we had to leave.

The room is decently sized, not enormous, but not tight. What was really surprising was the bathroom; the shower is huge! The bathroom itself is beautifully tiled in this orange tile, but is nicely sized. I found the room pleasantly decorated, a bit lux feeling, and very well-maintained.

The Internet worked very well at this hotel. The Wi-Fi was very strong, and easy to connect to.

The one minus I would give this room was the TV not having any option to connect Netflix or anything. If it did have that, I didn’t see it. It seems many French hotels don’t offer that, which is a big difference from American hotels. Considering I don’t usually stay in hotels when I’m in France because I’m visiting family, I don’t have much experience with French hotels, so it was interesting to see the differences.

All in all, definitely a hotel I would be...

La Dépendance Hôtel is a true gem in the heart of Paris, offering an exceptional stay just a stone’s throw away from the iconic Louvre, only a 3-minute walk. After exploring various hotels under the Machefert Group, I can confidently say that La Dépendance stands out with its unique charm and warm, family-like atmosphere. The general manager, Pierre, deserves special mention for his outstanding hospitality. He, along with the entire team, went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and memorable. Their attentiveness and warmth made me feel more like a cherished guest rather than just another traveler. The hotel itself combines convenience with elegance, making it a perfect choice for those looking to immerse themselves in the Parisian lifestyle. Highly recommend for a truly authentic and welcoming experience in the heart of Paris!

My husband and I were looking for an affordable, convenient hotel for our one night and were so pleased by La Dépendance. The location was perfect, the service was user-friendly and efficient, and we got upgraded to the largest room which we appreciated. Large by Parisian standards. Efficient use of space. We enjoyed the glassware provided in the rooms to drink wine every night. Our stay included breakfast at the cafe downstairs, which also functions as their lobby. Nice to get a cappuccino and selection of croissants!
