JanTchi — Restaurant in Paris

Place: the place is spacious, I think it is suitable for either single, couple or group of friends. It is recommended to book the table in advance or get line 30mins before the opening time to make sure there is a table for you.

Servers: we were "well-prepared" because of other reviews but actually the servers were quite nice, no complaint from my side.

Food: we are group of 5. Ordered 1 barbeque, 1 kind-of-hotpot and 1 bibimbap then shared all the dishes. The bibimbap was very nice, strongly recommend (5 stars). Barbeque (4 stars) and hotpot (2.5 - 3 stars) were barely fine, but not that good. They were way too sweet for me. Kimchi is also worth mentioning, it is refillable once, you will need to pay for the second refill. Additional rice costs 2€ for each.

In summary, the restaurant is okayish for me...

My wife and I visited JanTchi during our visit to Paris in July 2021. This was our first visit to a proper Korean restaurant. Being Indians, we were looking for some spicy, flavourful food and JanTchi made our day.

We ordered a few different items including the Bibimbap and the Dak Boulgoki and were simply blown away by the quality of the food and the richness of the flavors. You are not able to make reservations here and have to wait outside but we were lucky that our wait was just a couple of minutes before we found a table. The service was quick, the staff were friendly and it was just nice to be eating in this buzzing little restaurant among others who were also thoroughly enjoying their food.

It was such a good introduction to proper Korean food and we will definitely be back on our next...

The restaurant is very well cleaned. The servers were nice and watched customers often to provide the high quality of the service. But the food was not quite well made. I ordered tofu with Kimchi and tofu soup. I believe the tofu soup was totally MSG taste and I did not taste any thing except salt and MSG. 2 of us were barely finished half of the soup even though the soup ball is super tiny tiny. On top of that, I do not know why my table has only 4 side dishes compare to other tables got 6 side dishes. What kind of rules apply for that? Also When I paid at the counter, the person who dealt with the payment did not even say a word. She gave me the bill I gave 50 and she gave me the change. She we left. Not even good bye or thank you. One of the lowest quality food...
