A La Cloche D’or has now moved up to the top of our favorite restaurants list in Paris. We decided to spontaneously find a place to eat the last night we were in Paris and now we’re kicking ourselves for not doing this more often! We saw this gem of a place through the crowds and busy bistros and just had a gut feeling it would be special. We weren’t wrong! The starters-I had the egg mayonnaise app (DELISH) and my husband had the French onion soup. Hands down, best French onion soup we’ve had in Paris. I chose the lamb curry and my husband got the pork osso buco. The flavors were phenomenal and so perfectly balanced. Nothing was over salted. We really didn’t want our meals to end! We will definitely return to this charming place any time we find ourselves in Paris. Lastly, the staff were so friendly and attentive. Our server chatted with us a bit and gushed about how much he loves what he does. Well, it shows!! Thank you to the entire team at A La Cloche D’or for an experience we will cherish for...
Read moreThe service was great and the atmosphere pleasant, but unfortunately, the food wasn’t there. We really wanted to like this place, but it just didn’t deliver! Not to mention, it was quite pricey. The food presentation was beautiful (as you can see from the picture), but trust me, it didn’t taste as good as it looked. We’ve had fine dining in Paris for much less, with exceptional food. We ordered the ribeye, which was a real letdown—dry and flavorless. The curry lamb dish was better, but the sauce was overly salty, which ruined the dish. 🥹 We spent nearly €130 for a very average meal, which is incredibly disappointing. We’re more than happy to pay for quality, but when the price is high and the food doesn’t follow, it really leaves a bad taste and a lot of regret. The table next to us was also complaining about the same thing. I do not...
Read moreThe price did not match the quality at all. We had a strange experience when we got poorly prepared food and didn't experience the waiters checking up on us during dinner. Afterwards we gave feedback on the food to the waiter/owner? with the answer: "okay, I'll pass that on to the kitchen later", which didn't help us this evening. It was like an episode of Falwty Towers. It should have been a special evening in Paris, but unfortunately it didn't turn out so well. To say something positive. when we said we were sitting in the cold wind from the door, the waiter was kind enough to give us a new table. however, it was on a floor completely to ourselves. when we asked if we could sit among the other guests, we were told that the other tables were fully booked. It surprised us, as the restaurant remained empty through...
