I suggested to my group of friends that we grab a drink here because we had just visited the cathedral and being half Irish I have been to my share of Irish pubs around the world. I had to give up drinking a few years back but I still enjoy a pint of beer and I thought they would have a few non-alcoholic options perhaps even Guinness alcohol free which is widely available in cans but a rude barman swore at me and insisted that they didn't sell anything alcohol free. After sitting down at the table with my mates who all had their beers we checked the menu and they did have alcohol free beers, I asked for one and finally got a beer that I could drink. This place is in a great location so it's a shame that the staff member was rude. The atmosphere was dead but it was early evening to be fair so could be totally different at another time. If you're happy to take tourist money you need to be welcoming and not treat your customers badly. Anyways later on I stopped in a different pub which had alcohol free Guinness and great music and a friendly bar maid so I will send people there in future. I don't usually review pubs but this experience was annoying so I want to share it to give a more accurate reflection of this establishment than the overly glowing...
Read moreMy husband was yearning for a Guinness and we thought we would try Corcoran’s since it was right next to Sacre Coeur. Well we definitely felt deserving of a drink after all the stairs. Our bartenders Jesez and Mani were quick and friendly, and we had a great chat when they had time, Mani even made me a cocktail I hadn’t tried before, it was tasty. We also enjoyed some fried mozzarella and a chicken Caesar, so delicious. They made us feel very welcome so we returned the next night where they immediately acknowledged us and we had an even better time! So! An addition to our visit from the last two nights! This was our third night in a row to visit this pub, and we weren’t supposed to go out but we love the atmosphere and we sat at the bar, the manager(sorry don’t know how to spell her name but she knows her stuff) recognized us and one of the bar men(Logan)was there again and also came to say hello(and help us with French, merci beaucoup Logan from Bretagne!). We also chatted with Eve and had a great time! The Guinness was awesome. We’ve both been in restaurants for some 30 years and this bar had well trained, friendly and knowledgeable staff, we really appreciated our time there! Come see us in...
Read moreWould give 0 stars if it was an option… me and my friend had popped in here for a drink, and went to the loos before going to get a drink. We were firstly CHASED by a member of staff stating the loos were only for customers to which we explained we were going to buy a drink but really needed the loo. A second member of staff then ran to the toilets to confront us. This female member of staff who was aggressive and intimidating cornered my friend so she couldn’t move. This female started screaming in my friends face and would not listen to my friend and was stating we needed to say hello to the bar before entering the pub and not to use the loos. My friend was so intimidated she thought this female was about to assault her and genuinely feared for her safety. We have then gone to exit the pub as a do not feel safe, when the male memeber of staff has now stood infront of us intimidating us to try and pay for the loo, despite us explaining the behaviour of the female employee making us feel scared for our safety.
I would not recommend this pub to anyone due to the employees threatening and aggressive behaviour. Also the loos are disgusting,...
