El Tequila — Restaurant in Paris

Our experience with El Tequila was horrible. I went in with high expectations due to all of their great reviews, most of them from Americans. My friend and I went in not for dinner, but for drinks and snacks. We ordered the guacamole and fajitas for 1 to share. The waiter laughed at us when we ordered the fajitas for 1, saying it wasn't enough for two.

The 7 euro guacamole was sent out and our reaction was shock. It was the amount that you would get in a salad dressing container with about 8-10 chips. The guac did not taste fresh and even had cucumbers in it. They make you pay 2 euros for extra chips.

The fajitas were even more of a joke. For 18 euros, they bring out a small amount of meat and again, rice and beans in salad dressing containers. Two tortillas (that were stale and obviously from a grocery store El Paso packet).

The only thing decent about this place is their watery margaritas and the view outside the restaurant. The service and food is terrible. Other than that, there are so many better options in Paris (two of which are Mexican restaurants in the same...

I would give 4 stars (that means for me a slight improvement).

1. Tacos al pastor were not approximate of what we have in México. There are some other places who imitate well the flavour and presentarion. Europe is now knowing the style!

2. Cochinita Pibil: please add some purple onion with Habanero sauce, I was missing that. If possible with a corn tortilla. It was tasty!

However

I am chilli sauce specialist, you made a super tasty and spicy concoction. That green sauce is unforgettable in my tongue.

Your food was tasty, very delicious

Your Caipirinha although it is not mexican it matched well in my order.

Your attention was very nice and although the closing time was well defined on google, you left us finish our stuff without any pressure.

Family friendly staff, you know how to mesmerize small children!

In brief the experience was excellent, you can improve this in order to match the mexican style flavour. Maybe in the decoration you can also use some mor Catrinas, or something typical of each region. We would repeat for sure in iur next...

Ce n'ai pas un resto Mexicain!!! Saveur industrielle et c'est pas un peu de déco qui change la donne. Je me suis fait avoir par les notes sur ce resto! Sois les avis sont faux soit les gens ni connaissent rien en cuisine mexicaine, la saveur du Mexique n'est pas là. J'aurais du faire demi tour quand j'ai vu les 2 serveurs Pakistanais (enfin le 2 ème est la pour les livraisons). Déjà c'est louche, tout de suite on y croit plus au resto typique mais c'est pas fini, Tortillas industrielles dignent du supermarché. C'est la base de faire ses Tortillas soit même quand on avance faire du typique Mexicain . Ensuite les haricots rouge c'est du Tex Mex, on ne trouve pas ça dans un vrai resto mexicain, au Mexique on cuisine les haricots noir. Trop de chose qui n'ont rien de Mexicain de ces plats proposés, saveur industrielle, trop de chose à dire, je ne peux pas tout lister .... Bref à fuir

Ajout suite à la réponse du propriétaire: désolé mais vos prétentions sont très loin de la réalité. Je connais très bien la cuisine Mexicaine pour être marié à une Mexicaine, avoir vécu plusieurs annnées au Mexique et y retourner 1 à 2 fois par an. Je pratique aussi les vrais restos Mexicains sur Paris (Anahuacalli, Itacate, ...) où l'authenticité et la qualité n'a rien à voir avec ce que vous servez. Comment pouvez prétendre avoir un des meilleurs Chef mexicain votre restaurant? Ce que vous proposez est plus proche de ce que l'on trouve dans les chaines de restaurant TExMEX. C'est pas compliqué de préparer des Tortillas artisanales, moi même je le fais à la maison, de la farine, de l'eau, on forme avec un moule en alu et quelques instants sur la poele de chaque coté. Aucun chef Mexicain digne de ce nom ne s'abaisse à servir des Tortillas industrielles, même dans les toutes petites Taqueria Mexicaine sur Paris avec du personnel jeune (étudiants?) les Tortillas sont...
