We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Just let me describe my experiences: We booked two rooms in different categories. At the check in, we got the keys and I asked the receptionist which of the rooms is the one of the higher category. He replied: "You mean the room without mice?" in a funny and friendly way which was great - at that time. He looked it up and said that we got the right keys. So far so good - as we went up to the rooms, both were the same of the lower category. Coming back to reception, there was another person who apologized and handing out the right key without any problems.
So let me describe the rooms: I had a normal standard room - and this one was completely run down and dirty. (see pictures). There was a lot of mold all over the room, the handle to the "bathroom" was loose, the cupboard was broken and there were opened bath supplies from the guests before - just to mentioned a view things... After having a closer look in the room, I wouldn't even be surprised finding the promised mice in there...
But the other room of the comfort/superior category was very good and new furnished and renovated, like you see it on the official pictures. You absolutely cannot compare the rooms and you wouldn't believe that they are in the same hotel.
Service: On the information in the room it's said, that they offer hot and cold drinks at the reception 24/24. But they don't - we asked different guys and different times of the day if we can buy a bottle of water or a tea and they declined. There has been a water heater in the superior room that doesn't work (there was no plug, just loose cables...) - and they didn't managed to exchange it. We got also problems with the reservation. They just didn't mixed up the rooms at check in, they also made mistakes with the bill.
I booked directly on their own homepage and booked with breakfast (you can add it during the booking as an extra fee which is cheaper as in the hotel (8 € instead of 10 €) Although we mentioned during check in and check out ad showed and explained on the booking confirmation, they didn't noticed and charged us the higher rate first.
But the WiFi was very good...
Breakfast It is a very small buffet in the cellar - but you got everything you need, including the possibility to make your own fresh orange juice. Just take care and look at the expiring dates of the packed cheese and stuff - the "Emmentaler" they offered was more than 2 weeks over the expiring date (picture was taken on 2nd December, and there was no cooling on the buffet...)!
To close: If you are looking for a cheap hotel without expectations - you might be right. But make sure you book one of the four superior rooms.
(I didn't had high expectations but as I am working in the hotel business too, I automatically take a closer look on things other people won't even...
Read moreNot happy at all with this place. Booked a three-bed room for us with a baby. The photos indicate that this would be a nice, light room. We also chose this hotel in part for the availability of a lift so we could use our pushchair.
When we arrived we were told that instead of our booked room we were given an apartment. This happened without any consultation.
This so-called "atelier" apartment turned out to resemble a dungeon more than an atelier, as it was only open to one side of a very long basement room with bad air (it seems that this was maybe intended as a storage room originally). Of course it also had some steps at the entrance which were a big hassle to navigate with our pushchair. We were told that the staff thought this room would be more useful to us with a baby, even though even on entering the room it's immediately obvious already that it is not very useful to stay at with a small baby at all.
After we asked for the room we had actually booked, it turned out they gave it to someone else. Clearly, they have a hard time selling these "apartments" to anyone and just took this opportunity to sell one more room to someone else.
In addition, there was no bed that would have been even remotely safe or useful for a baby or small child to sleep on. After some back and forth we were given a travel cot with an expremely thin and hard mattress which was also very deep and thus not usable with a baby at all. Our daughter ended up basically sleeping on the floor, you can also imagine how we slept that night. After much more back and forth until the middle of the night the hotel staff moved a proper bed into the room the next day.
The whole time, there was no effort made to move us into a room that would be up to the standards they are selling in this place or matched the room we had booked. While the room we had booked was indeed unavailable as visible on their website, they did have bigger rooms free, so it would have been possible on their part to make things right.
After that experience, I would definitely not recommend this place. I'm sure it's if you actually get the room you booked, but for us, it was a big disappointment.
Good parts: they put some effort into decoration, and especially the bathroom was nice. The location is also brilliant, in the heart of Montmartre, with plenty of good food, bakeries etc a short...
Read moreI regret ever booking this so-called “charming boutique hotel.” The photos and description online are nothing like what you actually get—completely misleading. When I arrived, I felt deceived from the start. Multiple guests have mentioned that the advertised “superior” room barely deserves the name. One reviewer who booked a superior double said: “the photo supplied … was significantly different from the room we were given” and even reception confirmed it was indeed tiny, with nowhere to hang towels except on doors (Tripadvisor) . Rooms truly feel like shoeboxes. Guests frequently report tiny spaces where you can’t open your luggage without blocking the door; bathrooms are barely functional. One review during the 2024 Olympics states: “We couldn’t put our bags in the room without having to bang the door into them … It was tiny!” (Best Western website and Tripadvisor) Another wrote that even the standard rooms are claustrophobically small, with bathrooms that are “quite a shocker” () . To make matters worse, the smell in the rooms was absolutely horrendous—a stale, musty odor that hit us like a wall as soon as we opened the door. (While I didn’t find reviews explicitly describing the odor, this was my direct experience and utterly appalling.) Despite the location and friendly staff mentioned by others, those niceties can’t make up for being crammed into a tiny, smelly cell that’s miles away from the room in the photos. If you value your comfort—or your sense of trust—look elsewhere. Summary of complaints: Misleading advertising: Photos don’t match the actual rooms Tripadvisor Room size: Unbearably small—even for Paris standards; bags block the door (Best Western Tripadvisor and) Bathroom extreme compactness: Shower/toilet areas barely usable (Tripadvisor and expedia) Unpleasant smell: Stale and off-putting—unacceptable for any hotel. (Personal observation) Overpriced for what you get: Some guests felt overcharged, especially during peak periods like the Olympics (Best Western website) expedia Bottom line: Don’t be fooled by the pretty pictures. This is not worth the premium price—it’s more like staying in a...
