Ouch what a rough experience. We walked in past 10pm with no prior booking. The manager sat us in a room in the back that kind of looked like a private room, but at the same time it didn't feel like a private room. A small messy room next to the kitchen. The service was mediocre at best. The food was barely mediocre as no on in our party finished their food. We had a pregnant woman in the group who asked for well-done steak, who received a medium one. The steak was served with sauce poured over. Naturally, we sent it back. The server brought back the same steak (the original cut was still visible) that was cooked slightly more. I'm not how you can recycle a steak that is covered with sauce already. Not something I would expect from a decent restaurant anyway. The onion soup was great. Sea bass party was pretty bad. Frog legs too oily.
The grand finale was a rat (or mouse) sighting at the restaurant. We saw one running around the floor that ended up in the kitchen. I understand the building is pretty old but the waitresses reaction was priceless: "that's normal. This is an old building. They are everywhere!"
Won't be back and won't...
Read moreWe were warmly welcomed by the staff, and the environment around our table was nice. Service was good. (4/5) Food-wise, the organic eggs benedict as a starter was disappointing. Hollandaise sauce was too sour and overal dish was sloppy. (1/5) Main course was the lamb and the squid with chorizo. Overall good, but nothing exceptional (3/5) Another disappointing item was that they had served us a bottle of mineral water which was already opened when it arrived. Unfortunately, it casted doubts of its genuinity as the water tasted a lot like tap water. Any doubts could have easily been cleared if the server had opened the bottle in front of us. (1/5) Overall a good experience, though I’m sure there are better experience given we were dining in...
Read moreBooked this restaurant based on reviews and pics. Wish I had done more research. The decor was nice but totally lacked atmosphere. The food was outrageously expensive - 2 x basic three course meal, water that we thought was free, but were charged €4, and a bottle of their cheapest wine came to €180. Honestly, it was absolutely not worth it. The food was bland and mediocre at best. The service was over-keen to say the least. They took my plate away before my partner had finished eating - rude by any restaurant standards, and then when my partner briefly stopped eating her overpriced ice-cream to talk to me, the waitress whipped it away before she had finished. Altogether a horrible, expensive experience that I...
