It was impossible to stay here. The nausea inducing fumes were intolerable and my eyes burned after a short time in this room. I suspect that strong chemical cleaning agents and perfumes had been used in an attempt to mask some other foul odor, making the room even worse. I tried leaving the window open to get fresh air while we walked around the city but although the fresh air helped, it did not eliminate the problem and I could not stay more than 5 minutes in the room without experiencing nausea and eye burning pain. I paid for 2 nights but wasn't able to sleep here. Luckily a nearby hotel had a room availability and I stayed there. Although minor by comparison it was also difficult to get into room and the keycode that was provided to us was incorrect (luckily they did reset the code for us after quite a while on the phone). The passageway to the apartment is also dark and dirty and the apartment itself is very small. I briefly sat on the bed and it was uncomfortable but we would have stayed in it if it were not for the smell. I messaged the property on the day we arrived to via bookings.com to tell them about the noxious and overwhelming fumes coming from the apartment but they didn't reply until until after we left Paris. We were not able to spend even 5 minutes in the actual apartment before becoming too ill (that's after having left the window open). I paid €533.54 for a 2 night stay but I could not even last 5 minutes before the burning pain in my eyes and the nausea from the fumes made it impossible to stay. They couldn't pay me enough to stay there again.
Sleeping on the airport floor would be preferable and...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I’ve ever had staying at a location, and I want to warn everyone to avoid Apartments WS Louvre - Richelieu (I will be letting friends know to avoid this place as well.) I’ve traveled to numerous countries and stayed at many different places and this was the worst by far! I will give credit in that the room was clean, but that’s it. No air conditioning and there were no fans provided despite past comments from WS that they provide this. Their are renovations going on from the outside which I knew about beforehand, but nothing about there being renovations inside. The stairs were a mess covered with disgusting coverings of dirt and the elevator didn’t work, in addition to the workman banging on the elevator at all hours of the day. In the middle of the complex is an open area with people coming in all hours of the night until 2 am and everything echoes and makes the noise that much louder such as garages constantly opening and closing. WS leaves you to figure out how to get into the apartment and it was so impossible that I had to borrow a French persons phone to call. Also when I complained about all the issues, they pretended like they just got my email and just responded yesterday. I only stayed a day and ended up going to another apartment which was wonderful! My advice is to use your money and stay in another location if this area is booked and take the train into town or stay at the Timhotel a few...
Read moreLocation: very good being a few minutes walk from The Louvre, there is a good supermarket next door and alot of places to eat and drink Customer Service: if you have no issues they are great as you won’t have to deal with them, I had issues with the safe no instruction and it was locked, after 7 days of a very unresponsive WhatsApp/ email (they don’t reply to emails) engagement it was never fixed Green: no options to recycle plastic, glass etc. You have to go around and unplug all the devices in the room if you want to ensure all power is off, there no central power on/off Room Condition: rooms are clean with a lack of maintenance, curtains broken, door latch missing on toilet door, safe not working. The room has steps up and down throughout (make sure you have insurance) Entrance Area: on exiting the lift it looks like a construction site with cardboard taped to the floor Value for Money: it is a €50-75 room value, I was scalped by the company paying 3.5x their quoted rate for the same period when I checked on line at check in. As a follow up Customer Service did contact me about my concerns they were kind enough to offer a 4.2% rebate only if I removed my...
