We chose Hotel Louvre Sainte Anne due to its location in the 1er Arrondisement within easy walking distance to the Louvre, Jardin des Tuileries and Palais-Royal. It’s in an interesting area around Rue Sainte-Anne, a mini-Japan/Korea “town” area with many eating spots for ramen, udon, sushi, etc, but some good French bistros / cafes scattered nearby too. Nice historic architectural features we discovered nearby were the covered passages / galleries housing small shops and eating / drinking spots that came in handy to avoid the rain while exploring the neighborhood.||The hotel has a small ordinary lobby with a few seats along the front window and front desk along a wall next to the tiny elevator. Stairs lead up to rooms and down to the cellar breakfast room, though we never took breakfast at the hotel. We went out to try a different boulangerie or patisserie for coffee, croissant or pain au chocolat on our daily excursions.||Two rooms are right off the lobby entrance that are good for the mobility impaired. Upstairs standard rooms were small, but had a reasonable sized bed and closet plus flatscreen TV, small table with chair and ottoman. My small bathroom included a bathtub but little extra space inside. The room was comfortable, but furnishings were aged and could use updating. We had rooms on lower floors with no view unless you wanted to watch the evening queues to get into popular ramen or udon shops along the opposite street.||Besides the good location near the Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries, probably the best part of the stay included the great front desk staff, especially Moun, who always greeted us warmly and asked about our sightseeing and dining experiences while offering excellent recommendations and helping to make reservations. Overall a nice visit to Paris and stay at Louvre...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in March. ||The location was perfect! It was right in the middle of the Japanese/Asian part of town. You are surrounded by Japanese restaurants and stores. If you are looking to walk out of your hotel and see French bistros, coffe shops, patisseries, this is not it. You'll have to walk a bit to get there. There is a nearby "Passage" which is a cool little covered "hallway" with stores and restaurants. There are Passages all over the city that are easy to miss, but enjoyable to go in. The location was perfect though, right in the center of the city. We were able to walk everywhere we went and didn't need public transportation.||The hotel staff were fantastic and so friendly. They always greeted us when we came back for the day. Their breakfast is amazing - we loved the croissants and baguettes they served. They cook the eggs made to order. We loved the baguettes so much that we asked the hotel which bakery they used so we could go. The bakery was closed the following day, and then we were leaving to go home the next day, so we wouldn't have time to go. The hotel staff was so kind and offered to order us a few extra baguettes with their morning breakfast order! We were able to take them home and share with our family. We really appreciated that. There is also a small dog that sleeps in the window there. Very cute.||The room was small, but fine for what we needed. The towel warmer was a nice touch. The pillows were slightly uncomfortable and hard, but I enjoy fluffy pillows. We could not figure out how to turn the temperature down on the thermostat, so it was really hot the whole time. We did ask the front desk but the person didnt know how to fix it. We ended up just opening the window, but on Friday and Saturday night it got...
Read moreThis is a terrific little hotel with relatively affordable rates in an area of Paris close to the Avenue de l'Opera that has lots of little bakeries, bistros, restaurants and shops within walking distance. The room I stayed in was small but clean and stylishly modern, and it had everything I needed, including a small closet to hang my clothes, a small desk with power outlets, a comfortable bed with power outlets nearby, and a nice modern shower with separate controls for temperature and water pressure. My room was at street level, which was very convenient (but right next to the lobby and, of course, closest to the street, with all the noise from both, which I blocked out with a white noise app). The hotel staff spoke English and was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and they even helped me book a taxi to take me to the airport at 5:15am. Really my only complaint is that when there is no one at the front desk, the sliding glass front door is locked, so you can't get in or out until the staff member comes back to the lobby (there's a bell you can ring to get their attention); on the other hand, this makes the hotel safe and secure on a street with lots of pedestrians. Also, this is apparently one of many hotels in Paris where the cold/heat A/C setting is set for the entire building at once, so if the building is set on Heat and you want it cold, you're out of luck. (Fortunately the weather was such that this never became a problem for me.) Overall I had a wonderful stay and would recommend this place for its location, comfort,...
