Khao Thai — Restaurant in Paris

My partner and I chose to eat here tonight. We were looking for a nice mixed meal with meat and vegetables. It was a short walk from our hotel, only took us 5 or so minutes. When we walked in, it had a wonderful feel about it, like the restaurants we went to in Bangkok a few years ago. We were warmly greeted and shown a table. There was some softly playing Thai music and with the decor and lighting, gave you a feel for Thailand. We had some complimentary prawn chips provided after placing our order. The food was very hot, temperature wise, and extremely tasty. We had entrée of Chicken Spring Rolls, with Chicken & Cashew Nut and Massaman Beef with Steamed Rice. Both Entrée’s and Mains were so fresh and delicious. Just the right amount of food served. I’d Highly Recommend this Restaurant for anyone wanting a good dinner out in the Gare...

Three of us dined here last night & within 20 minutes of leaving all of us fell violently sick. We all had to miss work today. I called to make them aware & request a refund of the food items. We paid close to 150 euros!

Not once did they apologize or offer any empathy. Instead, I was told by the first person to call another number, then another, each person refused to give me their name and when I finally received a call back from their boss, I was told that we each would need to go to a hospital then file a complaint with the French Legion.

What? As I shared my experience with colleagues and friends in Paris they advised that this isn't the first time they've heard of people falling ill from dining here. Be warned & go elsewhere, so many better food options.

Trois d'entre nous ont dîné ici hier soir et dans les 20 minutes qui ont suivi notre départ, nous sommes tous tombés violemment malades. Nous avons tous dû manquer le travail aujourd'hui. J'ai appelé pour les mettre au courant et demander le remboursement des produits alimentaires. Nous avons payé près de 150 euros !

Pas une seule fois ils ne se sont excusés ou n'ont fait preuve d'empathie. Au lieu de cela, la première personne m'a dit d'appeler un autre numéro, puis un autre, chaque personne a refusé de me donner son nom et lorsque j'ai finalement reçu un appel de leur patron, on m'a dit que nous devrions tous aller à l'hôpital puis déposer une plainte auprès de la Légion française.

Qu'est-ce que cela veut dire ? Lorsque j'ai fait part de mon expérience à mes collègues et amis à Paris, ils m'ont dit que ce n'était pas la première fois qu'ils entendaient parler de personnes tombées malades après avoir dîné ici. Soyez prévenus et allez ailleurs, il y a tellement de meilleures options...

Randomly stopped by and checked the reviews, 4.4. Fair, we thought. Wrong. Awful food, cold satay sauce straight out of a supermarket tube. The beef and chicken meat in the curries were clearly frozen goods. 0 flavor, tangy. Super fatty/oily curry. Horrible watery texture.

Do not go here if you value your money. Left after eating just a few bites (not too look rude), we both ft sick afterwards too.

I'm used to Freshly prepared meat in dine-in restaurants. Not this.
