L'Oustal — Restaurant in Paris

We had lunch there on Sunday 06/03/2022. A total catastrophe. The "Confit de canard" had to be returned after I failed to even make a dent in it (not to mention actually CUTTING it...) for five minutes. I rarely return food. "On n'est pas dans le volaille", the waiter appologized. Well, if you cannot cook a simple duck, then why it is on the menu?? He offered I took something else. I went to the "Brochettes de Saumon". I told myself: "you cannot ruin a salmon and rice, right? what could possibly go wrong"? Well, a lot, apparently. Though the food was "mangeable" (edible), it seemed that the cook had some kind of a personal psychological rejection of any spices, salt & pepper included. Needless to say, on the table there were none of those, so eventually, in my despair, I kindly asked the people seated near me if I could use theirs. They agreed, and I was saved. My wife had the "Saint-Jacques" (I counted three of those...), which came on a huge tray, most of it stayed on it by the end of the meal. The potatos accompanied were, again, without any taste at all. Luckily we didn't order any wine. Honestly, I think it was the worst meal I had ever had in Paris "resto" (their spelling) and I have been living here for the past 18 years. Paid $525 for two nights and was beyond underwhelmed. Poor staff, not friendly, very small room. The AC/Heating was NOT working and brought to the attention to staff immediately. We asked for a refund or a different working room. We have a two year old and we were questioned why we needed AC and told to leave a window open. Was told they would not give us a refund because it is written on booking.com. We were basically stuck in a small hot room for the two nights right next to a busy and loud train station. You can hear people using the bathroom or talking easily through the walls. Horrible experience horrible staffing. 0/5 stars. The star is only for the Nice terrace... entrecôte at 28euros was small, not good at all tasted more like burnt charcoal ... it was not accompanied with any saucesand got attitude for asking if I can have any . The Maison burger was slightly better than that... the Coffee was really by far the worse I have had in long time ... The service was not good... seemed like they spent all their energy on regulars rather than newcomers... they didnt even come to ask if we want to order anything more ... not even a glass of water and they took my frites before I even had the chance to finish it... and they werent really friendly... (it wasn't croweded either to give them an excuse) I recommend the two restaurants across the street if you are ever in...
