We came to Lai-Lai Ken on a bank holiday as it was one of the few open restaurants which was not full.

We ordered two pork ramen bowls and a gyoza. The gyozas were unpleasant, 5 pieces attached together and ripped apart when trying to eat them individually. They were clearly frozen.

The pork ramen’s broth was average at best, and the minced pork on top was cold - again signaling poorly cooked frozen food.

This was all fine until I got a blue piece of plastic in my bowl. Luckily I noticed it (since it was quite big) and immediately called the manager. He confirmed that this was a plastic piece and moved it away with a pair of chopsticks, and just left. He did not offer a new dish to be made or for it to be on the house, and I did not want to finish my bowl.

Very...

It is difficult to rate the dishes when they arrive one at a time haphazardly on different tables, so by the time we started to eat (waiting for everyone) my crusty noodles were all soggy and the vegetables, pork and shrimp rather cool (table of 4). Looking up other reviews it seems it's a common problem with the restaurant. It's a pity because the staff is trying hard to cope and is pretty friendly (after we got seated, we asked if we could change for a table closer to the window and we were moved without an hesitation), the place is luminous and clean and the ingredients tasted fresh. The price is ok-ish, it's not cheap compared to what can be found elsewhere nearby, but it's not outrageously so. Hopefully they can sort out their...

Great restaurant with friendly waiters .

Overvall a great restaurant that mixes two asian cultures into one. Chinese food cooked in a japanese fashion.

If you are looking for a nice place to eat as a couple this is a great spot! It was definitely family friendly.

It was clean and the bathrooms too but the only problem I had was that it was too loud. I had a hard time hearing my friends across the table. The servers were nice but they had a hard time hearing us over the table to order too.

Convenient paying methods. Just scan the sca. code and you can chose to divide the payment and just pay what you ate or share the payment.

If they can fix the noise issue and invest in noise reduction in the building They would get even...
