I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with an uncomfortable experience during my visit to the Opéra Metro station in Paris. On 29 of March 2025 I was stopped by an employee to verify my ticket, and I was fined €50 because my metro card did not include a photo.
As a tourist in Paris, I fully respect the rules and regulations. However, I felt that the situation was handled in a very strict and inappropriate manner. My intention was not to violate any laws, and I believe that such an interaction can leave a negative impression on visitors to this beautiful city.
I kindly request that my feedback be taken into consideration to improve the experiences of future visitors and to offer more flexibility and respect toward tourists.

Sadly, I got pickpocketed in Paris in the metro at this station on my way to Trocadero to see Eiffel Tower on my first day of visit.
