Scoured through the internet for a place that had otoro available. This was one of three places that were offered by the web. With another restaurant, we went to but they decided to close for lunch without any info on the internet about it so it wasted our metro ticket. A second option had meh reviews due to the quantity and quality not being up to par with what you pay for. Then I decided to bring my boyfriend and I to Izumi. You'll have the option to sit outside, inside, or at the bar so you can watch the chef make sushi. There's the possibility of Omakase as well. During my stay in Copenhagen, I visited an incredible sushi placed called Selfish, and Izumi is the more high end equivalent of it. Our experience in Izumi was incredible. My boyfriend got the 12 piece sushi and I got an Izumi chirashi which is basically chirashi that included a bit of grilled eel and fatty tuna. I also got scallop (saint-jacques) and marinated mackerel sushi on the side. Every bit of our meal was enjoyable. From the simple yet fresh salad, to the delicate miso soup, then the main course. My scallop sushi was so tender and sweet, the eel was incredibly flavorful, and the star of my plate, the fatty tuna, just melted at the first bite. I heavily recommend this place if you're looking for a genuinely authentic and delicious experience. Expect to budget a minimum of 40 to 50 euros per person. This is much better than eating at a cheap place that serves sushi that tastes like every other place. They also have a separate takeout menu...
Read moreThe most authentic experience in europe so far! This resto has 6 tables, and no fusion sushi to be seen, just traditional nigiri and sashimi. Delicious omakase menu at very affordable rate with no cheaping out! Amazing ingredients, rice was both firm and melting in your mouth. Sake service very charming allowing you to choose your own cup. Chef and waitress are fantastic. Well worth the detour to Paris...
Read moreHighest quality of sushi you can get in Paris. All the sushi rolls and Sashimi are made from fresh high quality cuts of fish, with much variety. And all the sushi is handmade by an experience Japa ese chef. Only thing is the place was super expensive. That's the thing in Paris though, usually pay a ton for high quality. We could of gotten the same or similar dinner for under $50 in Korea though so...
