I needed to renew my passport and began calling the office in March but no one every picked up the phone. As the expiration date approached, I managed to get ahold of someone 3 times and each time I was told to call back. Eventually, on the fourth call, after a lot of pushing, I was given an appointment in late May after deconfinement.

The appointment went fine and was easy enough. I was given some papers and told to call back in 4 weeks and if the passport had not arrived to call again at the 6th week.

Well, again I have been calling 2-3 times a day for 2 weeks and made no contact (they're also only open for a very short time during the day). Finally today I managed to speak with someone and explain that I simply wanted to know if my passport had arrived. She told me to call back. I told her I had been calling for weeks and didn't feel comfortable having to call in again and she completely freaked out, screamed at me, and then slammed the phone down while I was speaking.

When I originally applied for my passport, I worked with a wonderful woman who was very helpful and available and accomodating. I would have never imagined that 5 years later it would be so much effort to do something as simple as a renewel. There is a complete lack of professionalism at reception which is a poor representation of the entire consulat. I don't think I've ever been...

My Hellenic passport and ID was stolen around 1300 hours on 30 April and I sent email notifying the consulate of this loss, then the Labor Day holiday arrived, but on 2 May I promptly received a phone call from Mr. K instructing me on how to proceed and he met me that afternoon to help in filing my French police report with the Greek police and also made preparations to issue me an emergency passport, etc. The staff were extremely helpful and prompt in responding to my plea for help. Considering that 1 May is a national holiday, my experience with them was exceptional on a Friday afternoon beyond normal consulate hours....

Αν μπορουσα δεν θα εβαζα κανενα αστερακι. Ότι χειρότερο στο να βοηθησουν Έλληνες σε μια ξένη χώρα. Η γυναικα μου έχασε την ταυτοτητα της στη Μασσαλια και μετα απο 10 τηλέφωνα μας το σήκωσαν, τους είπαμε τι συμβαινει και ΔΕΝ ΜΑΣ ΡΩΤΗΣΑΝ ΟΥΤΕ ΠΟΙΑ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΤΑ ΟΝΟΜΑΤΑ ΜΑΣ, ούτε μας ειπαν να παμε στην αστυνομια να δηλώσουμε την απωλεια της ταυτοτητας. Το μόνο που μας ειπαν ειναι να βρουμε πτηση απο Γαλλια για Ελλαδα με την Aegean airlines και να πληρωσουμε τα εισιτηρια και αυτοι θα μεσωλαβουσαν για να ταξιδεψουμε πισω στην Ελλαδα με free check in γιατι με τις αλλες αεροπορικες εταιρειες δεν μπορουν να μας βοηθησουν. Μας ειπαν αν θέλουμε να φύγουμε απο τη Μασσαλια και να παμε Παρισι για να μας εξηπυρετησουν απο Δευτερα (τραγικο). Δεν μας ειπαν ούτε που είχε αεροδρομια, που να ταξιδευει η συγκεκριμένη αεροπορικη εταιρεια, ούτε καν προσφερθηκαν να μας βρουν πτηση απο καποιο αεροδρομιο της Γαλλιας για να παμε ως εκεί και φύγουμε για Ελλαδα. Ευτυχώς μια γαλλιδα κοπελα που εργάζεται στη ρεσεψιόν του ξενοδοχείου που μεναμε, μας βοηθησε και μας ειπε τι να κανουμε έτσι ώστε να δηλώσουμε την απωλεια της ταυτοτητας και με ρίσκο δικό μας βγαλαμε ακρη και μπορεσαμε να ταξιδεψουμε πισω στην Ελλαδα. Ούτε καν μας βοηθησαν με τη μεταφραση στα γαλλικα μεσα στο αστυνομικο τμημα στο οποιο δεν μιλαγε κανενας αγγλικα. Τελικα ποιος ειναι ο ρόλος της πρεσβειας της Ελλαδος στη...
