Sadly didn’t get to have food this time round because I left after the waiter was just awful to me. A single woman who has been there a few times before when I lived here a few years ago went back today and was excited to sit and enjoy my experience but the waiter was so unbelievably rude I left and didn’t eat. I arrived and spoke in French to one waiter who I asked for a table for one person and he replied go ahead and pointed to the outside area, I then went and sat on a table that fair enough hadn’t been cleared and the tip was still there but I didn’t make a fuss I just sat quietly and patiently enjoying my surroundings and another waiter proceeds to clear the table next to mine and says “I had to clear the table and take away my tip and mumbled under his breath” and my response was “yes totally fine the other waiter did tell me to find a table!” He shook his head at me and huffed and puffed. He then came over to take my order and so I asked for a drink and some food and I asked if it was possible to change the poached egg for a hard boiled egg, simple request one would think seeing as above my salad there was a salad on the menu that has a hard boiled egg in it… but he said no and his attitude about it was awful to the point that I said “ok that’s weird that you can’t do that and I laughed and he just stared at me and I said is there a problem? And he said “is there a problem with you Madame? And got all Sarcastic with me. And just stood there starting at me.. honestly the worst experience I think I’ve ever had somewhere. I then decided to cancel my order and leave as I felt so uncomfortable and was so angry at him for being like that. I didn’t cause any fuss for him to treat me so badly. I will not being going back there, but perhaps I’ll take my French boyfriend with me next time maybe he’ll be different if he’s there… 😂 rude and...

We came here because the line for a restaurant nearby was too long. Mistake. This place also had a wait, but I suspect it was full of people who did the same as us and gave up on the wait at the neighboring restaurant because most tables I saw ordered the steak. I did too since my heart was set on a steak... I think I must've gotten the last steak they had left in the kitchen because it was a tiny little piece compare to all the steaks at the other tables. For 42 Euro it was a rip off. Plus the steak was chewy and came with a little salad and the most greasy fingerling potatoes. My young son ordered the cheeseburger and asked for no sauce and no pickles. It came to the table with pickles and drowning in a white sauce. The menu was very limited so my husband actually ordered a cheese and bacon omelet for dinner (since it was still om the dinner menu they gave us). He said it was the worst omelet he's ever had. The eggs were slightly burnt and tough and it had a few pieces of thin, lunch meat ham.

We truly wanted to like this place, since we often stumble into restaurants we were not planning to go to on our travels that have turned out to be great little gems and made a wonderful travel memory, but this place was not that. Instead it will be more of the nightmare travel memory that will come up when we think of our Paris trip. To boot it cost us 100 Euro for a...

Good food, poor service, needs improvement

While the food was good, the service detracted from the overall experience. During our visit, our waiter showed little to no effort for splitting the bill between friends and was even a bit rude.

Despite this, I must mention that the restaurant's ambiance was quite pleasant, with a cozy interior and a relaxed atmosphere. The food, especially the sausage, was tasty and well-prepared. However, the service issues and the lack of attention to detail did bring the overall experience down.

One thing that sets Le Bonaparte Restaurant apart from others is its location. Situated in the heart of Paris, it's an ideal spot for tourists to enjoy a meal after sightseeing. However, the restaurant could benefit from additional vegetarian options and a more efficient billing system.

To improve the service, the staff could benefit from more extensive training on customer service and attention to detail. Additionally, offering a loyalty program or special discounts for repeat customers could encourage more visitors to return.

Overall, I would recommend Le Bonaparte Restaurant to visitors to Paris who are looking for good food in a cozy atmosphere. However, the service issues need to be addressed before I would...

I love the Saint Germain neighborhood of Paris and Restaurant Bonaparte has a great location opposite the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church. On our last full day of our vacation, we grabbed lunch on the sidewalk and it was a good choice. The food was tasty and the service was typical Parisian - efficient and effective. My club sandwich was very good. My only complaint is that this restaurant is overpriced compared to similar Parisian restaurants. I did not find the food any better than most places of a similar category where we ate on our trip. There was also an attendant with a "tip tray" at the toilets. While this practice is not atypical in Europe, it was outside the norm of anywhere we ate in Paris or in the south of France during our vacation. The attendant was friendly and helpful, but when I am a paying customer, especially at inflated prices, I should not be expected to tip to use the restroom.

This restaurant seems to live off the fact that a much more popular restaurant nearby has very long wait times (the queue to get seated was literally around the block). So whoever doesn't want to queue for an hour at the other restaurant ends up here. Our food was okay, I would even give it five stars were it not for the rubbery bread that was served alongside my salad. The waiters were rather rude and impatient. We ordered a large bottle of water (which at 10€ feels horribly overpriced) to share and got a total of one glas alongside the bottle. Guess they took "to share" to the extreme. We also noticed that every other table was getting some free peanuts as a snack. When we asked about it, the waiter told us that they had run out of peanuts, but then kept serving them to other tables.
