Le Bouclier de Bacchus — Restaurant in Paris

The impression that wells immediate upon our entrance was that this was not your typical Parisian restaurant. It’s walls are lined with various bottles of wine: to fulfill whatever suits your needs of the day and with the food that this fabulous place provides. Greeting the server, we felt very much at home with asking for whatever we wanted. We asked for a window view. The view was somewhat hindered by the bottles of wine, but we got what we asked for. Asking about the days menu was fun. He did his very best to translate to English. We decided on the foie gras follows up with the veal for me and the duck for her. Ok....so the veal was soooo delicious, that I devoured it in moments! The sauce was perfect for the suppleness of the meat. Maggie let me try part of her duck leg. She wouldn’t let me try another piece though as she was guarding this morsel of goodness for herself! The price was more than fair for what we received. Very luckily we enjoyed this restaurant without reservation. we were the last night in Paris, So we wanted to great wine and signature menu that we were able to experience only in France. The recommended wine was amazing. and Food that we ordered also was amazing. Honestly, this restuarant food was the best dishes that we had experienced in France. and I never forget the staff’s kind. This restaurant was everything I hoped for. Started out with Pate de Campagne which was super tasteful . Roasted sweetbreads for main course came in a we'll seasoned jus. Side of French fries upon request. A very good and reasonable glass of wine to top it all. Restaurant is charming, food is as great as reviews claim, and an outstanding wine selection at retail prices! Service was extremely nice and professional. Wish I could go...
