It was 12 years ago when I was here for the first time, since then I’m trying to be back here every time I’m in Paris. Food served here is a proper old school, authentic French cuisine and it’s always fantastic and full of flavour. When it comes to atmosphere, hard to find a place with a better one. The name of the place translates to “friends corner” and it really feels like! Atmosphere of this place is truly special.
Yesterday we went for my girlfriend’s birthday dinner and she has really enjoyed it she was especially touched when our lovely waitress brought a small lava cake with a candle on it and people around started to applaud (it really felt like “friends corner”). She even shed some tears of joy..
What else I can say… when you in Paris and visiting montmartre, skip tourist traps on the top of the hill, take few steps down to the other side (5min walk down from the Sacre Coeur) and visit this real gem. You won’t regret!
Thank you to “Le Coin de Amis” for a great and special evening!!

That onion soup was the best I have in my life, and the escargot was (relatively) cheap, and comes without a shell, which for me is good, it is also big(ger than average) and meaty, more on the fishy side. Steak was okay, average for Paris I suppose, but their fries are seasoned with some kind of delectable barbecue powder. As far as I remember, the entrecôte/ribeye was a limited item, that comes with a pepper sauce. That pepper sauce is a bit sweet, just a bit, and not in a bad way, and not salty in any way or form.
Remember to add salt to the steak and maybe the escargot(depending on your tastes), in France usually the steak is not very salted because you decide how much it is salted, some people want a more "pure" taste maybe.

Read moreThis was my favorite restaurant on my recent trip to Paris. I found it a couple of days before I had to leave, but was able to eat here twice. Imagine a little neighbourhood restaurant with fantastic food and friendly service, this is what Le Coin des Amis Montmartre is.
I had the steak with pepper sauce both times (it was that good!). The beef is sourced from Normande cows and was extremely flavorful and perfectly cooked.
Desserts were superb too. The tarte tatin flamed with Calvados perfectly balanced the alcohol with the sweetness of the apples and the chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream was as good as any I can recall having.
Fresh bread on the table and a couple of glasses of a very nice Cotes du Rhone. What could be better? The bill was a pleasant surprise too, less than I expected. I'll definitely be returning on my next...
