So disappointed with our visit.We travelled from Ireland,visiting at lunchtime on the recommondation of friends. Polite girl showed us to a vacant table, so far so good, in due course our order was taken and we sat back and waited and waited and waited.Other diners were seated and after a time their food arrived and we looked longingly at the plates and hoped we would be next as we were hungry at this stage. However, it was not to be,having tried in vain to catch the eye of the mature waitress, we decided we had suffered enough humiliation and stood up and left. NEVER to return. Whatever were our friends thinking in recommending such a place...

Los platillos que sirven no son los que encuentras en cualquier brasserie, no me refiero a que sean difíciles de encontrar, para nada, solo me refiero que son diferentes a lo que normalmente encontrarías. Todo lo que pedimos estuvo demasiado bien. Desde que entras y encuentras el lugar lleno de locales de todas las edades, te das cuenta que vas a comer bien. Claramente el vino estuvo espectacular y sensacional, como en todos lados claro. Lo que te recomiendo 100% que no puedes dejar de pedir es el tartare boeuf, simple y sencillamente de otro planeta, no podía creer lo que estaba probando, el mejor tartare de mi vida. El venue muy parisino, nos encantó, quedamos fascinados, todo muy bien. El servicio igual, tuvieron las mejores de las atenciones, actitud, rapidez, amabilidad y conocimiento tanto de menú como de ingredientes. Este lugar está en la lista de aquellos que quiero visitar en mi regreso a Paris, definitivo vale la pena, sin falla, de verdad, sin falla.

English: this is one of those places that yells “I’m really good and I own it”. Since the very moment I entered the place and I noticed that practically everyone was speaking French, I knew that place was going to be good but when I tasted the food, it was just on another level. And I’m not talking fancy experimental micro portioned stuff, I’m talking authentic GOOD French cuisine, a bit different of that classical menu that you’d find in basically every corner (not saying difficult to find, only different). Service was to tier, they had the best attitude, they were fast, they gave some recommendations, they knew a lot about the menu and the ingredients, recommended precisely the wines for pairing perfectly. Le Diplomate on Boulevard de Courcelles is a true Parisian bistrot — no gimmicks, just quality.

The menu is full of French classics: saucisse purée, blanquette de veau, foie de veau, harengs with potatoes… all well-executed and satisfying.

Service is excellent. Even without a reservation, they did their best to make space. Waiting at the bar with a glass of wine actually felt like part of the experience.
