I read some reviews before going to this restaurant. And I read reviews specifically within the last week prior to going. Most of them seemed favorable, except for two stating that there was a smell, and that the service was not the best. But that was just two out of probably 10 reviews that I read so I decided to give it a shot. I can concur that there is a very pungent and unpleasant odour that hits you the moment you enter the restaurant, for the first five minutes of sitting down, I kept talking myself into leaving because I did not think I could go through a meal with that smell, but apparently he was sitting it long enough you don’t notice it because by the time I got my food I did not notice the smell anymore. The restaurant does not seem to have been clean in a minute and a half. The server that served us did not speak much English and had an attitude that I did not appreciate. I observed other servers being nice and courteous to other tourists that were dining so this was just my server who was an asshole. They packed so much seating in the restaurant that it is ridiculous. I had to disturb the people sitting beside me to be able to leave they had to get up and pull away their table to let me out that’s how packed we were. The food was not great. It was subpar and I would...

Went on my first night since it was so close to my hotel and decided I would also end my trip here. The friendly staff was very accommodating to the fact this was a last second business trip and I had learned zero French, but tried my hardest. Then there’s the food…

1st night in Paris: I started with the onion soup which was good but made better by the fantastic baguette they brought for me to sop up the broth. Then I had the 6 escargot in a delicious garlic, butter, and parsley sauce. Not chewy at all and lots of meat in the shells. Finally I ended with the frog legs which were a pain to eat (as they all are) but I never gave up as the sauce was to die for, again made even better by more baguette.

Last night in Paris: I started with amazing foie gras served with both fig and onion chutney and perfectly browned toast, followed by beef bourguignon which was FANTASTIC with just a little extra salt and pepper. Then dessert was the chocolate mousse which looked way to rich for one person but I could have easily eaten two as this was a very dark chocolate mousse, not overly sweet. Could not have asked for a better last meal or better service before heading home to NM. This will be a place I return on future...

Avoid this restaurant , it's just a tourist trap, we decided to seat in this one because we had the feeling it was more authentic than the rest of restaurants in this touristic area. It was our biggest mistake. The staff was rude and ill-mannered, the menu translations are not the best and we asked for help to one of the waiters who just replied to us that the restaurant was full and we had to hurry up with our order. We expected that the food at least would be good, second biggest mistake! We ordered a cheese fondue for 2 people and it was the worst fondue we have ever tried, either they put too much wine on it or the quality of the wine was so bad that it was almost not edible and like a really disgusting white soup with spirit and cheap cheese taste. It was so bad that we couldn't finish it and decided to leave without desserts. I'm leaving one star because at least the bottle of wine we ordered was excellent but all the credit should go to the vintner.

This place is quite a find! Yay Paris! Very special decor, a lovely old building that’s been kept well. I think what makes it stand out is the level of professionalism of the servers and management. Also, it’s a great value. I elected for the €29 dinner which includes three courses. I elected to go for the duck terrine as a starter, with beef bourguignon as the main course, and crème brûlée for dessert. I also had a nice glass of a Cabernet/Merlot blend for only six euros. It was a fabulous dinner! Try finding that kind of quality at that price in the United States, it’s really not easy to get, especially in a major city. Photos are included. The servers were very quick, showed a lot of care, brought extra bread without being asked, kind, and just professional. Highly recommend!

1. Service is very bad. My chair has been hit by the server for around 10 times by the server with plait, without any apologies. They forgot one of the entrée order. The pot of fondue they put is inclined with high temperature oil inside, meaning it is quite dangerous to customers. They didn't check the pot is well mounted and just gone away. Hope, if any, the future customers served by the plait server will be safe. (They also throw the knife and forks on the table. Furthermore, they left a part of tissue paper on my wife's skirt but just go away) 2. Food is not good. I have ordered bourguignonne. The 4 sources are the worst sources in my 2 week trip in France. 3. The distance between tables is too close to be comfortable.
