La Restaurant Vingt Spts is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Paris, offering a unique blend of modern French cuisine with a subtle twist of global influences. From the moment you step inside, the minimalist yet elegant décor immediately sets the tone for a refined dining experience. Soft lighting, comfortable seating, and an open kitchen make the atmosphere both inviting and sophisticated.
Service: The staff at Vingt Spts are incredibly attentive, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth. The maître d' greets each guest with a smile, and the waitstaff are knowledgeable about the menu, happy to recommend pairings with wines from their extensive list.
Food: The star of the evening is, of course, the food. The menu is curated to highlight seasonal ingredients, with each dish presented as a work of art. The foie gras terrine with fig chutney is a standout appetizer, rich and creamy, balanced by the sweetness of the figs. For mains, the seared duck breast with caramelized pears and a red wine reduction is an absolute must-try. The meat is tender, cooked to perfection, and the sauce adds depth without overpowering the dish.
For seafood lovers, the lobster ravioli in a saffron-infused cream sauce is divine. The pasta is delicate, and the lobster filling bursts with flavor in each bite. Vegetarians are not left out either, with dishes like truffle risotto that offer a hearty and aromatic option.
Dessert: Desserts at Vingt Spts are the perfect end to the meal. The dark chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream is rich yet balanced, while the lemon tart offers a refreshing citrusy contrast for those who prefer a lighter finish.
Drinks: The wine list is impressive, featuring selections from both local French vineyards and international labels. Whether you're a fan of Bordeaux reds or prefer a crisp Sancerre, there’s something for every palate. The sommelier is always on hand to provide recommendations tailored to your meal.
Price: While the prices are on the higher side, averaging €60-€100 per person for a three-course meal with wine, the quality of both the food and the experience justifies the cost. It's an ideal spot for a special occasion or a romantic night out.
Conclusion: La Restaurant Vingt Spts delivers on all fronts—stunning food, exceptional service, and a cozy yet chic atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or a visitor to Paris, it's a must-visit for those looking to indulge in top-tier French dining. Read moreHad a very unique experience at this spot trying the Raclette option, which we also had duck breast fillets, smoked ham, and potatoes
The first thing that came out was a massive raclette wheel, attached to a machine, which we had to plug into an outlet The sides of this machine would melt the raclette wheel on either side, resulting in melted cheese, that you could eat with the meat or potatoes
Next, we got the meat, served on a separate plate, along with whole potatoes We had to figure out the eating experience here. Should we eat this by scraping the cheese off and putting it on the meat? do we dip the meat in the cheese? Initially, we were trying to eat this by scraping off the cheese, and then realized it was better to wait for a while for the melted cheese to pool next to the wheel
For uniqueness of experience, this definitely ranks up there As far as actual eating, though, it's not as high
While the meat is pretty good, the cheese doesn't taste exceptionally special or anything - certainly not something worth a) paying this much for and b) spending this much effort trying to eat. It's good, melted cheese, and I don't really have any complaints - but the raclette didn't wow me in any sort of way
Then, you get to how cumbersome the eating experience is. For one, they give you whole potatoes, which means you have to individually cut them. Next, for basically every bite, you need to scrape off cheese and put it on whatever you're eating - which takes a lot of effort. I'm just not a fan of doing this much of the work myself outside of eating when I'm at a restaurant
The price is quite expensive as well. Along with dessert, it comes to about 40 euros per person, which is a lot. We also got the creme brulee - which I thought was pretty good, and had a nice caramelized exterior, but the inside wasn't as creamy as I would've liked
Overall, this was certainly an interesting meal, but I don't think I'll be trying it in the...
Read moreHad dinner with my wife because of the good reviews. Waiter was lovely at first, very friendly and jovial. We loved the escargot and chose to try the french onion soup because of the good reviews. It wasn't to our taste so my wife so my wife and I chose not to eat it. When the waiter came around and he saw it wasn't eaten, he asked why we hadn't eaten it. We replied "sorry we just didn't like it." The look on his face was like I insulted a member of his family. He spoke about how it was magnificent and how people come from around the country to try it. We apologized and said we don't mind, but we just didn't want to eat it. He grabbed the meal and stormed off. From our perspective, he looked extremely offended and it was a very uncomfortable interaction/experience for us.
Once friendly and jovial, after this interaction he slammed our main meal on the table without saying a word to us. His demeanor completely changed and we honestly felt that is not eating the soup personally offended him Not a comfortable vibe or experience at all.
The cheese fondue was good, however the bread that accompanied it was a little bit stale and tough to chew. Taste I would rate a 2/5 but with the negative interaction with the server and the stale bread and high pricetag - 1/5. I wouldn't recommend personally.
Disclaimer: this is my experience and my perspective. I can't speak...
