My recent visit to La Maison de la Truffle in Paris left me with mixed feelings. As it was my birthday, my partner and I decided to try our luck without a reservation on a Friday evening. Surprisingly, due to a last-minute cancellation, we were able to secure a table for two.
However, the initial excitement quickly faded as we encountered several disappointments throughout the evening. Despite our polite request, the wobbly table remained unaddressed by the servers, detracting from the overall dining experience.
Furthermore, the timing of our order was notably delayed, with our neighbors being seated and served before us, despite arriving later. This discrepancy left us feeling overlooked and undervalued as patrons, with our order being taken a frustrating 25 minutes after we were seated.
The veal Milanese, a dish I had eagerly anticipated, turned out to be a letdown. Despite the addition of cheese and black truffle, the flavor fell flat, and the texture was disappointingly soggy. It lacked the boldness and finesse I had expected from such a renowned establishment.
On the other hand, my partner’s choice, the pizzeria with truffle flavor, fared better and was the saving grace of our meal. The subtle hints of truffle infused into the pizza elevated its taste, earning it praise amidst the disappointment.
While I commend La Maison de la Truffle for its elegant ambiance and commitment to fine dining standards, the overall dining experience fell short of my expectations. Despite the intriguing menu offerings, the subpar execution and inconsistencies in service left me disheartened.
Having experienced many other exceptional truffle dishes at various establishments throughout Paris, I couldn’t help but feel that La Maison de la Truffle failed to deliver on its promise of culinary excellence.
Despite the allure of returning to explore their menu further, I am hesitant to revisit La Maison de la Truffle given the disappointing experience.
Also they charged €9 for a bottle of sparkling water that was brought to us almost 30mins after requesting for it - not sure how I felt About that either. And please do take a moment to see how chewy the bread...

If you’re a truffle lover, Maison de la Truffe in Paris is truly paradise! From the moment you walk by, the intoxicating aroma of truffle fills the air and sets the tone for what’s inside. The restaurant itself has a cozy yet elegant Parisian ambience — warm lighting, classy interiors, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to linger.
We tried several dishes and each one was outstanding: • Risotto with Truffle: Absolutely incredible! They are so generous with the truffle — you can taste and smell it in every bite. Creamy but not overwhelming, perfectly seasoned, and that black truffle on top? Simple, aromatic, and delicious
• Pizza Ham & Brie with Truffle: The dough is on the thicker side, but still soft and not heavy at all. The pork ham was fresh, salty, and high quality. Combined with the brie and truffle, it created such a beautiful complexity of flavors. You can even add fresh white truffle on top for free, which makes it extra special
• Fettuccine with Pan-Fried Duck Foie Gras & Black Truffle: This dish completely blew me away. The al dente pasta with creamy sauce was already delicious, but the addition of foie gras (just +1€) brought it to another level. Rich, luxurious, and perfectly balanced by the earthy truffle — truly a symphony of flavors. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had in Paris
Beyond the food, the service was excellent — quick, attentive, and very friendly. The staff clearly know their menu well and make great recommendations.

Read moreLa Maison de la Truffe in Paris is a delightful restaurant that offers a culinary experience like no other. One standout dish that deserves special mention is the foie gras with truffle. The combination of these two luxurious ingredients creates a harmonious symphony of flavors that is simply divine. The foie gras is rich and creamy, while the truffle adds an earthy and aromatic dimension to the dish. It is a true delight for the senses.
Another noteworthy dish at La Maison de la Truffe is the gazpacho. The refreshing chilled tomato soup is bursting with fresh and vibrant flavors. The gazpacho is expertly crafted, with the perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. It is a perfect choice for a hot summer day or as an appetizer to awaken the palate, there was one slight miss. The cucumber sorbet, although unique and refreshing, was a little too sweet for my taste. The sweetness overpowered the natural freshness of the cucumber, resulting in a slightly imbalanced flavor profile. However, this small hiccup did not detract from the overall dining experience.
Lastly, I must commend La Maison de la Truffe for their impeccable use of truffles throughout the menu. The truffles were consistently on point, elevating each dish they appeared in. Whether it was shaved over pasta, infused in sauces, or delicately incorporated into desserts, the truffles added a distinct and luxurious touch that truly set this restaurant apart.
Overall, La Maison de la Truffe is a must-visit restaurant in Paris for truffle enthusiasts and food lovers alike. With their exceptional foie gras with truffle, delightful gazpacho, and impeccable use of truffles, this restaurant offers a memorable dining experience that will leave you...
