8 October, 2024 was date of our visit. My daughter and I. Delicious Food Abominable Service! We wanted to make it an early night because 'tomorrow' began our Viking Cruise Adventure. Our group was leaving the hotel quite early, and going to the train which was departing at 9am. We arrived for dinner some time roughly around 7pm. The restaurant was very quiet. We know the French tend to dine later in the evening so for us this was a perfect time. We had hoped to be in bed before 10pm. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant, Mayo Cafe, ("offering a cuisine that celebrates local producers and seasonal products," though fantastic in food prep and presentation, the service was ABSOLUTELY ABOMINABLE. (What do they care, they rarely see the same customer again anyway...) When in a dining establishment, (one I consider "fine dining" especially!) the waiter should NEVER tell a customer, "Just a minute..." as they FLY past the table, after being waved down by guests, waiting for some time after finishing their meals. We never saw that guy again for the rest of the long drawn out evening. The worst of it was after our having to get up and leave the table a few hours after being seated with dragging service, to go find our bill, the wait person asking V if she worked there. I was annoyed by my asking to be charged on my credit card in US Dollars as is my custom, and BEING TOLD by this wait person that "it doesn't matter." We did not leave the restaurant until close to 10pm. As mentioned, the food was delicious and all was presented in a very appealing way. The drinks came within 10 minutes, which was ok. The starters came immediately, a little too fast. The starter plates were not finished, when our mains arrived. The starter dishes were not removed. Then nothing. No one asked how our plates were, no one asked if we would like another cocktail. No one cleared the dishes, or asked us if we would like dessert. There were a few other diners by then, in similar situations.

Starters: Daughter had the butternut squash soup, while I had the Blue Crab Mediterranean. Both were delicious and elegantly presented. Mains: Daughter had the Caesar Salad with chicken which was well presented but pedestrian. She enjoyed it, but said it was unremarkable. I had the lamb chop, which was actually a small rack of lamb, perfectly prepared, with a side of Celeri Fricasse apple and Comté cream. Fantastic. This may have been the best tasting meal I had in my entire holiday. (I have little nice to say about Viking cuisine) If we had wanted dessert we'd have been a sorry lot. We never saw OUR waiter again, and it took a few tries to get a bus person to tell a wait staff person (after ours literally and verbally brushed us off) to get one cup of coffee. I am a regular guest at Hyatt properties, and this entire dining experience did not reflect well on the superior service I have had from coast to coast in the USA. FYI we found ourselves as guests at this property because it was chosen by Viking Cruise Lines. Thank you for...

Overall food was awful and absolutely not worth the money. Lobster ravioli was cold and the pasta was likely raw, texture was way off and the entire dish was flavorless. Lamp chops were tiny and also flavorless. Our sides of grilled vegetables and mashed sweet potatoes were the highlights of the meal. Glass of wine for 12E?? We’re in France! Kids meal of salmon was the best meal on the table. Kids meal “steak” was hamburger-probably a faux pas on our understanding of what they meant by steak. Ice cream comes with kids meals but when we told them one of our kids was lactose free, the answer was pretty much “oh well”. Creme brûlée was good and enough to share for 2, but if they messed that up, that would devastating in France! Gave atmosphere 3 stars because we were freezing! Walk outside and find food nearby instead, gotta be...

The Mayo restaurant in the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile is an amazing, trendy restaurant with excellent food and the service is even better. We loved the fresh, clean design of the restaurant as well.

Dorian, our server, was top notch and we really appreciated his exemplary level of customer service. We had a lovely experience and Dorian had excellent English skills to boot. French waiters are top notch! The luscious, cheesy, croc monsieur that we had was also killer! The gnocchi, pork and sweet potato was also excellent.

We were at the Mayo restaurant multiple nights for dinner and breakfast it was always fantastic. The service by our other waiter was great as well and food was exemplary! Five stars! A great Paris experience in a...

We stay at the hotel for four nights and had three breakfast in this restaurant! The food are very good and with lots nice selection! Very nice coffee station too! But the service needs lots improvement, and no salt and pepper on our table and all table around us, I grab a set from few tables away and no salt in it also! The restaurant in 5 stars hotel are missing all small details! Very sad!
