Disappointing Service and Unacceptable Treatment!

I regret to say that my recent experience at this restaurant was deeply disappointing, and I feel compelled to warn others. As a resident of Le Marais, I have visited this place before and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. However, the most recent visit was marred by unprofessional, sexist, and xenophobic service that left a sour taste, despite the good food.

Upon arrival, my companion (a French speaker) and I were offered a poorly positioned table. I was made to sit in a way that inconvenienced other guests, and when I moved to the other side of the table, the server—who was a young woman working for the summer—approached me in a commanding manner, telling to change seats. Interestingly, she addressed my companion, even though I was the one who had moved, which I found to be rather sexist. Despite the uncomfortable situation, I complied, inconveniencing other guests in the process. (To add, we were served wine of a lower quality instead of what we ordered).

Things only worsened after my companion made a light-hearted joke about the seating arrangement. The server reacted sharply, disappearing into the back after labeling the comment as "rude." Moments later, another young server approached my companion, repeating the same accusation. This was followed by the chef (the most senior staff member) who also scolded my companion for rudeness -- all this despite NOT having witnessed the original interaction!

My companion apologized, even though the situation had been blown out of proportion. We chose to stay, hoping the incident would pass. Our experience continued to deteriorate.

After finishing our meal, I wanted to speak with the manager, hoping we can normalize the situation. What followed was truly shocking: two servers immediately interrupted me, incorrectly assuming my companion was my husband -- a sexist and false assumption, and telling me that I could not understand the situation because I don’t speak French -- a xenophobic remark. The manager, without hearing me out, rushed to my companion outside and, in front of all the other guests, instructed him to "restrain his hysterical wife." This level of disrespect and humiliation was beyond anything I could have imagined or tolerate, especially in a city like Paris!

It’s truly unfortunate that a place with such potential was tainted by such appalling treatment. I would strongly advise potential patrons to consider other options in the area, as this kind of service is not only unprofessional, but also...

Ok, I'll share my thoughts...

As many of my Paris/French restaurant experiences, this was not the contrary. First, as any other restaurant, the tables are very small, we planned to order a considerable amount of things to try, so why not sit on a table with plenty of space, no one was in the restaurant so we sat on a table for 4. The lady came out to greet us and said, only 2? I said, yes but she replied oh no.. you cannot sit here this is for 4. Sit here, and went on to move the menus to the smaller table...we managed to sit down but very uncomfortable. We ordered at the fast pace she wanted us to make decisions. Food came out fast, abundant and ready, but it could fit with the bread, the water bottle, my beer, my wife's glass of wine.. it was caos.. don't move to much as the tables will shake and thing can start to fall... When she brought another bottle of water, she noticed that there was no space available and placed the bottle on the other table... what I intended in the beginning but was told not to sit there.... we finished our meals and no one sat either outside or near us though our time there... The waitress and staff need to be flexible, mindfull and cooperative with their guests...

nothing is extraordinary or fantastic, about this place, I have eaten oysters for many years and will not recommend it. Service makes a big difference for me, and here I didn't feel I...

We discovered an exceptional restaurant on a dreary day and were delighted by the experience. The menu offered an array of delectable options that we savoured, although I cannot recall every dish we ordered. The hostess was incredibly kind and offered custom recommendations based on our preferences. The food was rich in flavour and diversity, and we enjoyed the white wine so much that we ordered another bottle. The warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant enhanced our overall enjoyment, and we had the option of dining outside if the weather...

Great little neighborhood joint that's tucked away from the main street. The oysters were fresh and balanced briney. My first sip of the juice came off a bit strong but a couple of drops of lemon squeezes fixed that. I also had the tuna tartar and my fascination still continues. The marinade is bold and robust. There is no shy in seasoning here at all. The flavor combination threw me off abit with the pink peppercorn and the coriander seeds but overall a great way to showcase fresh fish.
